The first single I bought was Fingertips by Stevie Wonder. My dad bought my 2 sisters and me a record player for Christmas and let us each buy a record. It was 1963 and I was 12 years old. My dad passed away in 1968. When my mom passed in 2003, I found the the layaway receipt for that very record player with my dads signature. It was a bittersweet moment. I still have the receipt.
39/40 I don't remember my first 45 because I used to buy albums. The first album I bought was "days of a future past" by the Moody Blues which I promptly lost off the back of my motorcycle.
Now, the 60s, I probably remember less of them than the 70s, but I managed to score 40/40 yet again. For the question #4 bonus, the Cooler King was the coolest actor in Hollywood... Steve McQueen. And, since you mentioned Bullit later, that is probably my all-time favorite car chase scene.... For the question #12 bonus, Gregory Peck played the role of Atticus Finch. Now, the first single I ever bought, I'm not 100% sure, but I seem to recall it being "I Want to Hold Your Hand" by the Beatles just a few days after their Ed Sullivan appearance way back in 1964. Thanks for the flash-back... in a good way! Now, let's see what you've got up your sleeve, Ben....😁
@@Quizzes4U Thinking back on it, I believe that chase is so iconic because there's nothing there but V-8s and tires squealing. No music, no ridiculous background sounds, just muscle car V-8, and tire sounds... well that and the occasional gunshot!😂 There's also a blooper in that chase. At one point, they pass the same green VW Beetle no less than 4 times.🤣
Born in 1967, I confidently knew 31 of the answers, guessed at the other 9; incorrectly guessed numbers 2, 18, & 25, correctly guessed/was halfway sure of the answers for 13, 15, 23, 26, 27, & 30; scored 37/40, plus 1 bonus point. Didn't know #4 bonus Steve McQueen; definitely knew #12 bonus Atticus Finch, and only had to see the name Harper Lee to know the answer; _To Kill a Mockingbird_ is one of my all-time favorite books, and I love the film, too; Gregory Peck was quite handsome. The first 45 I ever bought was _Tragedy_ by The Bee Gees, age 12, summer of '79. Same summer, the first LP I bought was _Star Wars and a Stereo Space Odyssey,_ by The London Philharmonic Orchestra, featuring the music of John Williams and others; it was $1.96, on a table of assorted LPs, all priced under 3 or 4 dollars. Side A had 7 selections from _Star Wars,_ Side B had _Theme from 2001,_ and 4 other selections with space-related titles. Cool LP for not being a soundtrack.
Great quiz, I’ve become an addict to your quizzes 😊 40/40 plus both bonus points. First single I bought was Norman Greenbaum Spirit in the Sky and first album was Electric Ladyland by Jimi H. Problem back then was they only had a mono version which I bought as I couldn’t wait a week till the stereo version came in. Harry Hayes Records on Fulham road get a big thanks about it as the double album gatefold stereo version goes for about £50 but my mono version according to my mate who buys and sells rare albums is worth about £800 he says.
This quiz was really fun! The first single I ever bought was Monday, Monday by the Momas and the Papas. BTW, even though I didn't get all the answers, I thought a lot of the questions were too easy. And:. George Clooney could not have played Batman because he was a child when that show started.
@@Quizzes4U I wasn't aware that he played Batman later because I grew up. But he's a few years younger than me and I was a young teen when the show started.
Not too bad, 35 out of 40. First extra points was Cooler king was Steve McQueen in the great Escape, and second extra points, Atticus Finch was Gregory Peck's character.
