I'll have to respectfully disagree with Nick's consistent stance that Kamara's HOF trajectory was derailed primarily because of the scheme. HOF players overcome those types of things. Kamara had to carry a more significant load due to the contract that he was given. We consistently compare him to McCaffery and for a good reason. However, McCaffery is a workhorse, and Kamara is not. Also, I don't believe a team owe's a player a HOF career as far as making sure the scheme gets them into Canton. I've been watching many old games, as I do every summer before the season starts, and Kamara has definitely lost a step. No, his fall-off isn't like Zeke, but he definitely isn't near his peak anymore, and that's to be expected. Analysts who cover the Saints seem to bite their tongue when it comes to being honest about aging veterans. Father Time is undefeated, and no one is great forever, it's ok to openly admit a player is no longer who they used to be.

LMAO....no, Kamara was not Gale Sayers or CMC. He was NEVER on a HoF trajectory and he certainly isn't now. The absolute delusion from Saints fans and outlets around Kamara is just insanity.

I disagree based on journalist are the ones who vote the players in and if they(underhill and company) arent voters they know voters. This isnt hyperbole they talking. Trajectory don't mean they were locks.

I respectfully disagree. But I will say this, you have a very valid point about journalists involvement in selecting players to the Hall Of Fame and how their bias plays into it. But these are NO journalists and no one outside of NO thinks Kamara is anything special. He's a good back that shows flashes. If journalists have a good relationship with a player and like a player, their chances increase. It's how Jerome Bettis got in, it's how Hines Ward has received undue consideration, it's why Terrell Owens who should have been an easy first ballot HoFer was deferred a few years.
Now the reality about RBs in the HoF. There are TWENTY-FIVE. That's it. 25 RBs in the Hall Of Fame. That includes guys like Jerome Bettis who were never great but really good for a long time, and Terrell Davis who was great but for a short period. Here is a list of RBs who currently are NOT in the HoF and most of them won't make it and they're pretty much all more deserving for one reason or another than Kamara:
      Frank Gore
      Adrian Peterson
      Fred Taylor
      Steven Jackson
      Corey Dillon
      LeSean McCoy
      Warrick Dunn
      Jamal Lewis
      Ricky Watters
      Tiki Barber
      Thomas Jones
      Marshawn Lynch
      Clinton Portis
      Ottis Anderson
      Ricky Williams
      Chris Johnson
      Derrick Henry
      Hershel Walker
      Bo Jackson
Kamara barely has more rushing yards than Reggie Bush and Darren McFadden.
Alvin Kamara ranks 111th in all time rushing yards at this point. He's only 10th among active RBs behind Derrick Henry, Ezekiel Elliott, Latavius Murray, Melvin Gordon, Nick Chubb, Joe Mixon, Dalvin Cook, Christian McCaffrey, and Aaron Jones.
Yards from scrimmage? Kamara ranks 117th all time. 12th among active players
Rushing and Receiving TDs? He's 77th all time. 9th among active players.
He has NEVER broke 1000 yards rushing. He was NEVER been in the top ten in rushing yards in a season. He only has 3 seasons in the top ten in yards from scrimmage. He was NEVER the best RB in the league. The best you could argue is there was 2 year period, 2017-18, where he was a top 5 RB. And that's not a Hall Of Fame trajectory. It's just not.
I can't imagine a world where even these Saints reporters are voting for the Hall Of Fame and see CMC, Derrick Henry, and Ezekiel Elliot and then select Kamara. And those are just Kamara peers who have always been ahead of him on the HOF trajectory.
Of all the RBs I have mentioned in this post, no more than 3 or 4 will make the Hall of Fame....Kamara was never in the discussion.

@@MosheGoldbergTheKing100. He's a good back for his career, that's it. Last couple of seasons he is an average back who makes a whole lot of business decisions. You are spot on, he's not even in the discussion, nor should he be. The Saints have one player who deserves HOF consideration.....one. Cam Jordan...and he may not get there.

    • @MosheGoldbergTheKing

I thought Adebo was the best on the team last yr. Adebo, Granderson, Bresee, Olave, Shaheed, Mathieu, Demario would be my list with Fuaga, Saldiveri, Kendre, Werner, Carr having the potential to break out into top 10 with some consistency.

Saints fans and media are addicted to losing and losers. When will they get it through their heads that Lattimore and Kamara wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire. Same people that still make excuses for Jameis Winston and Michael Thomas. They want to hang their season on guys who will talk about how great they are, but take the off 1/3 to 1/2 the season, but want to be paid like they're the only guy on roster that matters.

Having carr at 6th and then Kamara at 4th is laughable, carr was a better player than Kamara last season and ended top 10 in most stats despite the issues, Kamara wasnt even top 30 in rushing yds, total yds or tds, cant have the o line and system argument without giving the same to carr.
Y'all need to stop acting like he is cmc when he hasnt even been top 10 for years

Alvin Kamara missed 6 games last Szn. I agree Carr was the better player but you do have to putting that in perspective that the line was a huge problem for both. I think both will have a great szn this year with this system it fits both of there play styles

AK is worth more, league wise and business wise. On the trade block he would get more. He brings more money and fans to the saints. Carr numbers look good because he only puts up empty stats when the game over and checks down all game. Then has 2/3 deep throws. It’s been like that his whole career. He was never a top 5 QB in the NFL. But AK was a top RB.
