Half the fun in an MMO is making your OWN avatar that represent YOU, but I guess people don't even wanna make the effort anymore and rather just get something prepacked from an effin lootbox...

I knew of this game when I was a student, hyped to play it as you could imagine. Now I'm a teacher and I just forget about it every time. Biggest shame of a game.

here is my thing with Blue Protocol. In a healthy market this game would be long forgotten by people, but its not the case since the MMO landscape is boring, dry and there is lack of games with this artstyle. So yes, Im still waiting for it, but mainly because there isnt many other good anime mmos coming out

Its job is to push out new contents or endgame stuff to keep player interest (aka fun activities), neither one of those is achieved, so it's an unfinished, unpolished game, simple as that. As a developer, we always think of a way for you to get addicted to the game so you'll spend money for it and we make a living thats enough for the salary of all the developers and make investors happy so they'll invest more. Simple as that
2 years ago this was my most hyped game. Then they started censoring it and I immediately lost almost all interest, then it got delayed, then it got delayed, now its delayed indefinitely. I really just dont care anymore. What a shame.

This is not dreadful information. This is good information. Them admitting that their game is not ready is what I love to hear. It means honesty and it means they will put out a game that "IS READY".

Oh, just like Suicide Squad, Cyberpunk, and many other games that were delayed and still released in mess. All Amazon wants is to take their time crafting a western version of blue protocol that will take everything away from the game that makes it good.

Well I suppose there could be somewhat of a silver lining in the game being delayed for improvement. I wouldn't be surprised if the JP version also went down from all the negative feedback. Who knows, maybe they could pull a ffxiv and come back with a positively revamped game.
Its probably best to forget about the game and focus on what IS coming out until we get some more solid news.
From the play tests it didn't seem that great IMO, so I'm actually happy they're going to take some time to make things better.
..yeah I want to go back to sleep and say screw this day. I already had to have an argument with someone irl about something I've addressed multiple times, on top have another episode of dealing with this unknown chest pain, on top of some things malfunctioning, on top of dealing with some random woman telling me to go kms for existing with a penis because I held the door for her..
..and then I get home and I see this video. This is literally the only game I was still waiting for. I think I'm over this whole Blue Protocol stuff now. I think I'm going to dedicate my gaming time into FFXIV, Genshin, (maybe OW2...that's a BIG maybe) and actually try. Done reserving myself and giving myself a "gamer block" over this game. I regret ever hearing about it.
...sure, I guess I'm being bleh from the combination of a bad day this is and taking a nap or eating something good would calm me down...but damn man.

Tbh by the time this game comes out there will be much better games out there that it would be no surprise this game will hardly have any player base in it. I still hope for it to come out soon but a huge part of me gave up already since they dont explain much on whats going on with the game 😢

I think the reason why they're delaying is because they're probably just doing a whole bunch of stuff that's going to ruin the game like some more censorship probably some woke dialogue that's probably going to be injected into the game

Not surprised. AT ALL. It actually didn't look like it had much to offer, aside from a beautiful anime aesthetic.
Expected, the game has a lot of issues that were doscovered with the JP release. If it released in the state it was in JP or even currently, it wouldve flopped.
At this point, this game will be canceled before it comes out to the West.
Five years ago, I was excited for this game like no game in recent memory. Now, I have given up hope that they will ever release outside Japan.

There is also this thing... that I want to jump into new MMO and remain up to date with content. Old games like FF14 and WoW are too overloaded with content for me to enjoy it. Blue Protocol will be annoying at global release because game is already playable in Japan. No matter how much content Japan have... they are going thro it while for us pile of wasted time is getting bigger with each patch.
It will be funny to see Blue Protocol releasing globally with so outdated content that we will find things that are not worth doing because they are from older patch

PSO2NGS IS FACING THE SAME ISSUES in terms of no content and the game being incomplete and lacking content.
At least one studio who's publishing BP cares enough to come right out and say "Yo this game sucks and we will need some more time before it comes out, if it ever does come out that is".

We just had a content drop not that long ago
pso2 NGS has been releasing stuff consistently since like the start of this year. Theres usually something "new" to do every week, however gear progression is still the same thing. You farm x content (or well any content) and hope to drop the highest rarity gear and then off you go to the duel mines for 6-10 hours to put all the BiS capsules on your gear. After that you wait 1-2 months (or more if youre lazy) and repeat the same thing. They also changed fixas making it so you can easily upgrade them by using an item that gives a random lvl 1 fixa and smashing things together. They also gave away items that are 100% success and dont need items to rank up fixas, making it so you can get to fixa 3 (the most important one) for free instantly.

They couldve made a sequel from the ground up with much better systems in place for a good game by now, onstead of fiddling around with a dog shit base game and trying to pretty it up with live service make up

So many dedicated fans waited and was excited to play it for so long in the end it was a nothingburger.
Imagine. They are delaying a finished game that is translated but they feel the need to censor and change the game to something no one will want to play compared to Asian version. And when it finally releases, they are gonna spin their heads in shock why the game fails.
This game is already DOA unless they radically change the game. Maybe this is a good thing, who wants censored crap to begin with?
FFXIV and GW2 expansions on the Horizon, I suspect BP will release around Christmas.

Now its not a bad thing having an early access gives good feetback but obv a tripple A studio releasing an unfinished product as released is not a good thing.

To the Blue Protocol fanbase, lemme just say this: Let's prepare for the worst, hope for the best, and offer encouragement and support when we can. Setbacks do suck, but usually good if not great things come from waiting for a completely finished, polished product. I remember when I got my first look at what was then known as Project Eve. Delay after delay, very little info released on whatever progress was being made. Fast forward to now, and Stellar Blade, while not perfect, is a great example of what having patience and optimism can do. Korean devs have been coming out the kitchen with some high quality games for a while now. So let em cook. There's plenty appetizers to snack on in the meantime.
The thing is what i've seen and heard so far , from you exactly, that we can play it even in 2-3 months. I think the game is gonna be ready, and playable in 2024 soon. :) "DELAYED" is a big word , i just would call it a "preparing it for release" fase. So don't make it too dramatic please. :D Love for you guys.
I might still play it if it gets launched globally at some point but I don't think I'll ever have the enthusiasm to play this game the way I wanted to with all the bad news that keeps coming out. MMO's are a great concept for games but with the current climate of their production and development it kills their potential. Due to the slimy, lazy, mismanaged, tone-deaf, and greedy actions that keep occurring in the gaming industry, I'm not sure a good MMO in this style will be release anytime in the next 10 years at least. MMO's are a big long-term project and the production culture, especially with managment, is filled with too much greed, tone-deafness, and short-sightedness to actually turn out a good project. It really is a shame because you see these passionate developers, writers, and artists with such amazing ideas and then their ideas and work just get squashed for one reason or another.
Here's my headcanon: Bandai/Namco want to kill the game off by putting it on life support, because it did not take off at home and they informed partners on it.
They should've never even tried making a MMO, from their personal track records. None of their coders have the skills.

I am playing eq quarm. I am waiting for monsters and memories (2025). They are 2 stress test in june. I believe i will be playing that game before blue protocol come out my guess. I don’t expect too much. I hope they make it still.
they gotta change their business model thats the only explanation i can see for the delay its not printing them money an honestly good riddance gacha is a shit monetization scheme hated by the gaming community in general.
an i am guessing thats what their "big" announcement is going to consist of in their anniversary stream which is upcoming. i am willing to bet that they will change from gacha to subscription model similar to how ffxiv does its business which ofc could mean less frequent updates but i'd rather wait 2-3 months for quality an big updates then be constantly dissapointed by micro updates that consist of the same boring grind for little to nothing substantial gains
yeah, ive lost almost all interest in this game now. The japanese version was fun in the beginning, and didnt even bother getting to "end game" because i knew there wasnt any. After waiting so long for global, especially with no beta or anything, its a wrap. Unless theyre changing the whole game and removing the gacha and actually add good pvp/endgame, its a ggs from me

don't get me wrong. i'm glad they are polishing it. it's something i always appreciate and i agree more studios should be honest about these things instead of leaving us hanging on a word.

I agree, delayed indefinitely might sound negative, but I rather they do that than releasing an unfinished product, and beside, there are shit tons of incredible games coming out this year so I am personally pretty content with it right now.
I just sincerely hope that they actually are working on it rather than just abandoning it.
well at least they are hoping to make it better rather than fully release it empty. One thing I do think is important for the full ready release date is that they better do a GLOBAL RELEASE. I swear if they re-release the game and make NA wait another year ill be pissed.

I blame this on Amazon honestly. Sure it needs some patches, but the game is basically there. Even if they had kept it in an open beta. They should have worked with Epic instead for localization.

The original ''Genshin Killer'', at this point the core game is probably outdated with how much is has been in development. It will be out the same day SCAM citizen is out of pre alpha
