Another tip try hard resetting your Xbox how to do that is hold down the power button until the screen goes black, unplug the power cord wait ten seconds, plug it back in than it should work (it worked for me)

Mine looks broken. The top piece of metal is cracked down the middle and you can see the foam above it. Theres also a piece of metal sticking out of the bottom on one side but not the other. I have a replacement port, but I got that for my other xbox. Also, whenever I try putting a usb into it, it only goes in part way. Is there any other way to fix this? Edit: so I put a flashlight to it and I see the other bottom metal piece, but its lower like it's supposed to be. It appears the problem is that first bottom piece, it looks like someone tried jamming something into it and pushed the first piece back. It's been like this since I got it, so I dont know how it couldve happened. I'll try pushing it down to the right place (xbox unplugged obviously) and see what happens Edit 2: so I took a dentist tool and a little thin blade and tried to pull it more towards me, as it was pushed backwards, and so far I havent gotten much luck. Edit 3: FINALLY! So all I did was used a dentist tool (got it at Walgreens or something like that) and the little knife (a small flathead screwdriver would work) and I put the dentist tool through the spot that was sticking up and pulled it so it was straightened, and as I did that I used the knife to flatten it down. I put my spare controller port into it and it works. Thank you for following my journey, now I'm gonna clean my phone case cause i help it in my mouth for the flashlight

When it comes to fixing ports usually you either have to clean it, or open the device and fix it from inside. When it comes to fixing devices in general, usually the repair video will be good or the speaker will be foreign.
You didn't fix anything though, all you did was use other ports. My xbox back ports are damaged. I have now used a usb adapter to plug in more than 1 controller by plugging the adapter into the side. The side port is the only one that works.
