THIS BATTLE. Hoo boy, where do I begin. It's January 2012 (I got this game for Christmas 2011). Both me and Zongazonga are down to our last Vivosaurs. Zongazonga himself is dead, I just took out one of his 2 Z-Rexes with my Toba, and the other one is at critical health. He attacks, I survive, and I deal the final blow. VICTORY. This game is easily one of my favorites in the DS library.
LordKraken3 I had a bit of an easier time than you it seems. My Giga Raja, who was my normal heavy hitter, was locked out due to the accuracy debuffs until the final blows. Instead my Barbaros and Thalasso dealt the majority of the hits. I focused directly on ZongaZonga and because he abused his law of nature, his teammates were down to one health when I dispatched him. Right after they took out my Giga Raja, Thalasso and Barbaros removed his minions and beat him. Still... wish I could've used Giga Raja more. Combine Charge with his naturally high attack and you have cataclysmic damage.
My battle with him came down to the wire for sure. My team: Teffla tricera and nycto. The battle was LONG and hard. Near the end I FINALLY got him low. And took out his Z-rexes. But my other members finally fell. Leaving only one thing left. My teffla already serverly injured and having loads of debuffs from a necromancy attack. I whould have lost if it wasnt for a VERY lucky crit with tefflas teffla soar attack. Other whise he whould have definently knocked me out. I manage to win on my first try. But I gotta say FEW final bosses have ever came that close. And been that much of a TRUE struggle.
LordKraken3 I had a mono-fire team consisting of a Machai, a Sungari, and a T. rex. The last two had done a good job of royally screwing his crap over, and Mr. T breathes radioactive lasers. Most challenging boss in the game yet. Still stomped all over.
I remember when i fist faced ZZ i was like "crap this guy is OP", and it took me a few weeks to beat him. But once you get the right strat is pretty easy. Gunash was a total joke (maybe cause i had 3 rank 12s when i beat him, dunno), and Dreadraven was legit scary and but Support Shots rock. So ZZ for da hardest video game boss i ever faced
my thought exactly the first game final boss easier than dynal second. 2 mid rang 1 long high accuracy or hard battle .third game nerfed vivosours and support effects i wish fossils were random and i hate cars but the final boss is the first i have died more than 3 times he is so op puts those z rex to shame the heavly lower each others stats to keep balance but dame black raven is hard
ZZ has terrible evasion. So you can unironically use vivosaurs like T-Rex Lord, Mapo King, Giga Spinax, etc. And 2 shot the poor chap and begin work on the Z-Rex's.
i remember this one vividly, my Lugmos, Heracles, and Tophis all standing face to face with Zongazonga and his team. i swear that it had been literally down to the wire. i swear i might have lost if it weren't for the fact i had been max rank on all of my main vivosaurs and the fact that Tophis ended the battle with a final gambit, an OHKO straight to ZongaZonga's creepy ass face
Ah, yes. Zongazonga. Oh believe me, I had so much fun with this guy. I destroyed the wizard with my Dimetro (pretty sure, it's been a while. Could have been Lugmos though), Pacro, and Thalasso. Didn't see one of those Z-Rexes Reanimate until a rematch that would come far in the future.
To be honest when it comes to my list of the 3 games, I have to say that Frontier definitely falls last. Its not bad, it just doesn't have that charm to it. It's clear lack of Vivosaurs was definitely the most disappointing part. However, I cant imagine ot would be easy to model more than 140 high poly models, but I digress. Now, I would say that the original and Champions definitely come close. However, Champions falls in 2nd. While it was definitely supperior in graphics, animation, and most of all, game mechanics. In fact, I would say that Champions has the best game mechanics, especially when it comes to batlles and fossil hunting. I would also say that it overall, has a better soundtrack. It also has plenty of content so that you could be playing for potentially weeks. Something that bugs me, however, is it has a short storyline, but that isn't necessarily bad. And the original was the most enjoyable. Yes, its graphics and animations are mediocre, to say the least, its story is fantastic. It has great pacing, plot development, character development, a giant cast of funny characters, and a surpluss of post-game sidequests to do. Not to mention the nostalgia boner i have for it. Overall, of you wanted one of the games to introduce yourself to the Fossil Fighters games, I would say to get this one first.
MegaLoGamer 69420 I really have to disagree on putting the original above Champions. The Originals' story is decent, but I feel like Champions' is better, every character is unique and gets some development, and it has quite a few good twists. The original though, Rosy is just the damsel in distress, Diggins is bland, Saurhead has no character at all, the only characters I like in it are Duna and Dynal. Meanwhile in champions every character gets some development, I won't spoil anything but they're better, and the final boss is also way less out of nowhere. Honestly I would say Champions is better in every way, you just seem to have some nostalgia.
I like champions the best. I do think that the original explained the mechanics better but the plot and mechanics changes in Champions were clear improvements over its' predecessor. Also Champions has the most vivosaurs of all three games.
The endgame of the original actually is moderately lacking compared to Champions. You can fight all your old adversaries for rewards, sure. But you can in Champion's too, and there are a lot more fighters and tournaments in Champions. The other thing is, Champion's combat system is objectively worse and less strategic thanks to the zoning. You can't block off your enemy from attacking someone you want to keep alive, you can't prioritize tactics as well, and there's little to no cost to having some of the most powerful vivisours in the game in the SZ. The kicker, tho, is that Champions is an upgrade in literally every other way. Vivisaurs are more powerful, you have more FP, leveling up support vivisours to gain full power support effects is required and well balanced, they retouched the power up abilities like enflame to make them more viable, super evolutions are fantastic and badass, cleaning got some nice additions, fossil hunting was more polished, protagonists were less one dimensional with better character development, and the narrative had legitimate twists that weren't left field. It was objectively a better experience in all areas except the combat. That being said, you have to play the original to know all these things. An upgrade is only possible if there was something before it, and both were good enough that it warrents a play through for both
I disagree prettily heavily with champions placement; while the graphics aren't too big a deal to me, the difference in mechanical gameplay is ludicrous. The updated system takes what the first game tried and kinda failed and perfects it beautifully- whereas there are times playing ff1 i genuinely get annoyed with how the mechanics work, when playing ffc it's nothing but pure bliss due to how fluid the mechanics are(except for the annoying slippery ice ugh)
I never got to the Dynal battle when I originally played the first game, so which boss is stronger. Dynal or Zongazonga? Not in game stats, like in the story cuz I like Zongazonga better but I am curious as to who would win in a fight.
I know that this comment is a year old but from what I could find, Zongazonga practically stomps Dynal. Dynal doesn't have much to work with so the best we can use is downscaling from Frigisaurus's potential island bust. However, even at his absolute weakest Zongazonga would be way stronger due to him likely being at 70 million times stronger than city busters like B-Jara, putting him around country level. His stronger states are also way stronger (theoretically the majestic vessel while he is still getting used to it is around 1.8 trillion times stronger) being potentially around multi-planetary. In abilities Zongazonga has Dynal beaten as well with him having all abilities that the Zombiesaurs/Boniesaurs as well as energy manipulation and absorption, several ways of bypassing defense (including possible soul manipulation but that one is pretty iffy), and life absorption. Meanwhile Dynal mainly just has anti-matter but that likely wouldn't do much and it's restricted to a team skill. In speed they should be pretty much equal but Zongazonga likely would let himself get hit more often through his arrogance. Zongazonga also takes experience and skill, having potentially battled for several generations. Also Zongazonga is lets just say, much smarter. He is more of manipulator only really being transparent with what he's doing once he believes he has already won. Heck he could probably just manipulate Dynal's emotions like what he did to Todd. Only this time he could just have Dynal be covered in complete dread and hopelessness, probably even breaking him from the inside counting as an easy victory.
I had a Equines,Seismo,And Lambeo during this fight,It was tricky since the resurrect ability sent in Z-Rexes into battle every 3 turns. But I came through with only my Seismo.Easily, this is the best game ever in my opinion.
@working humaneer ikr… suuuure it says 3 turns… but really the turn after it dies is turn 1 your turn is 2 and then its turn again is 3 and it immediately revives… WTF that is BS...
3 vivosaurs. Teffla, Tricera, and Mechi. These bois completely RUINED this boss. Just let tricera keep hitting like a truck with enflame, and let mechi sit in the back and keep hitting the t-rexes and keep them in check. As in for the lord himself, that’s tefflas job. As long as you play smart with positions, you win 100% of the time
# of you use raja with trikeceratops you won becase the power level of as attack will be a lot MABYE OVER 9000 but if it giga raja rip faces no relly I'm brother always count we raja got to 940 or something like that can got to 1000. Mosly if air Dino rip game raja have becase primal rage in DTROEY face we need the I Rex or something.
My top 3 favorite tracks in this series:
1. King Dynal Battle
2. Zongazonga Battle
3. Guhnash Battle
The Dynal track is amazing. I totally agree with this list.
This is perhaps one of the greatest final boss music of Nintendo history.
THIS BATTLE.

TSLsmokey And then enrage happens.

Well I used Teffla, Lungmos, and Machi (forgive me if I spelled the names wrong) and had a very good fight.
LordKraken3 I had a mono-fire team consisting of a Machai, a Sungari, and a T. rex.
The last two had done a good job of royally screwing his crap over, and Mr. T breathes radioactive lasers.
Most challenging boss in the game yet.
Still stomped all over.
Since the z rexes regenerate take them out last hint
I remember not really liking this song my first time...
What was I thinking?!
Those darn Z-Rexes and their reviving.
懐かしッ!よくランク上げのために週間してたなぁ〜
Fun fact the song is actually called category 6
love this game
i love all fosil fighter games except the frontier one
This is my second favorite track in the Fossil Fighters Franchise, only behind the King Dynal Battle Music.
I remember when i fist faced ZZ i was like "crap this guy is OP", and it took me a few weeks to beat him. But once you get the right strat is pretty easy. My Spinax completely annihilated Guhnash.
what about battling Dynal, was he hard (im also counting his rematches, including the whole dinaurian team)
Tyrant The Indominus rex he was harder than the final boss i have never lost to the final boss I've always had a decent challenge when fighting dynal.
ZZ has terrible evasion. So you can unironically use vivosaurs like T-Rex Lord, Mapo King, Giga Spinax, etc. And 2 shot the poor chap and begin work on the Z-Rex's.

Pretty underrated for such awesome music!

This song is called "Category 6"
Lugmos, The green Ptera clone I cannot currently remember the name of, and Tophis FTW
Nycto
Paradox
I used Lugmos and Nycto too. I had Tricera as my final, and I lost a lot. I had to use Raja in the end.
Raptor Charly raja, nycto, tricera carried me throughout the entire game
Truly great theme:)
THIS MUSIC REMINDS ME OF ZONGA ZONGA CHASING MEH!!! (In the game)
Two words power scale

I had a Equines,Seismo,And Lambeo during this fight,It was tricky since the resurrect ability sent in Z-Rexes into battle every 3 turns. But I came through with only my Seismo.Easily, this is the best game ever in my opinion.
俺ならティラノ、トリケラ、ブラキオン
What it feels to fight against Indominus Rex

This song could be good chase music
@working humaneer ikr… suuuure it says 3 turns… but really the turn after it dies is turn 1 your turn is 2 and then its turn again is 3 and it immediately revives… WTF that is BS...
Am I the only one who managed to battle ZongaZonga using all Vivosaurs, starting the game over again?
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who wasted my life doing that XD
Same to be honest XD I jus know i should've been
No! Please, Lord Zongazonga! Please don't rape me!
Wtf
+Thomas Wolford I dunno. The whole "give me your body" thing, I guess.
+Dina the Fossil Fighter yea that's weird
+Thomas Wolford With or without context, either way the Zongazonga reveal was disturbing.
Don't worry little one
He just to borrow it for a few decades
He give it up once your old
acculy this is category 6
