I have a big Joe, and have decided to only use Kamado Joe charcoal moving forward. In my opinion, no other lump comes close. For whatever reason, the Kamado Joe lump is much heavier than standard lump, and burns much, much longer. Its a little more expensive, but definitely worth it!
where do I by the starters or the kamado joe lump. is it easy to buy in stores or do I need to order it. inother words is it essesable to buy in stores cosco, home depo lowes.. what if I run out of starters andkamado lump the nite before a cook. can I purchase it at the above mentioned storesor do I need to order. thank you for your time
what can I use when I,m done with the kamado joecharcoal and fire stsrters. maybe I can not afford to by the lump charcoal and fire starters. you do not mention what can use as a alternative. if I purchase the kamado I may be tapped out to by the lump and starter from kamado. do I have a alternative. that lump and starter will be expensive
Please do not use any fire starters besides the Kamado. I made the mistake of using a very well known fire starter lighter cube once and it really did a number on my Joe. My cooker smelled just like lighter fluid for at least 6 cooks. Horrible. The Kamado Joe fire starters are truly odorless. I use 2 cubes and start them with a Turbo Torch lighter.
Are the cast iron cooking grates and griddles available yet? I am a Kamado Joe dealer and I don't see these listed as available products.
