I could be wrong, but the energy unit, which touches the red hopper and is above the rechargeable battery area doesn't count if touching material (that's the reason why other teams are using the car for that)
Our energy unit is actually carefully balanced on the little red tray from the energy storage bin, which we gather during the second launch and send over (with the yellow truck) during the third launch. Since the red tray is not "team equipment," it counts--and it even counted in Houston!
