    Chapter 1: Scent Profile 2:30
    Chapter 2: Performance/Feedback 14:30
    Chapter 3: Versatility 16:19
    Chapter 4: Value 19:05
    Final Chapter: My Final Thoughts 20:34
    Bleu de Chanel has been a huge success for the house of Chanel. It sold well and continues to do so. Sales does not always translate in a great scent and as much as a feel like Bleu can be an excellent choice for a utility scent it never wowed me.

    A versatile and solid release. Niche heads may hate this but I do appreciate this scent immensely. It’s a safe buy and set a standard for many of the “blue” fragrances that followed. It may not be a ground breaking release but not every release needs to be a recreation of the wheel. Personally I’ve been through several bottles of BDC and I have an extensive collection of designer and niche as well as pure essential oils but BDC suits me just fine ! Great longevity and projection overall. A gem that some may choose to pass on. It’s a blind buy to me but you can always try before after all it’s Chanel so it will cost you some coin. God bless and enjoy fragrance for yourself and if you happen to please others so be it but please yourself first.

    Bleu is clearly head and shoulders above the other popular blue fragrances imo: Dylan Blue, Sauvage etc. The EDP is where its at though

    Great review!! I will say I agreed with a lot of what you said and thought the review was fair. I personally really enjoy this one because it sets itself apart imo from a lot of other designer frags. It’s just got this classy sort of longevity that other houses just skip out on. It’s all top with them. That’s why Dior and Chanel are great imo anyway.

    9 years later - a review! Finally. I knew you didnt like it. :) I personally had this one and sauvage 2015 (sold it) and ended up buying club de nuit for this type of scent (everyday citrus/woody/casual). Still, there's something in BDC. Just cant justify the price for the quality

  • @Twasdanight

    The EDP is the best of the trio, smack dab in the middle is the sweet spot in this line. The EDT was way too transparent for me and the Parfum lacked the nice pink starburst accord I get from the EDP and was all woods, gonna sell my Parfum version soon as I never wear it. I definitely think the EDP version deserves a review.

    I shouldn't really like this going off my usual taste but there is just something about it that makes me pull for it more often then many others in my collection. I think this is the best/reference fragrance in the "blue" category.

  • @RichMitch
    @RichMitch 5 років тому +2

    I think edt and edp are "starchy" and unfinished, like first and second drafts. The ambroxan is gross in them. I really like the parfum though, feels smooth, round and finished. The parfum is the best and the only blue fragrance i have. You're very right about everybody needing one, what a lot of people forget is that they only need one

    • @plamenski5244
      @plamenski5244 5 років тому +1

      the Parfum is too powdery and formal to me, it does smell classy but it's not an easy grab and versatile like the EDT in my opinion.

    • @RichMitch
      @RichMitch 5 років тому +1

      @@plamenski5244 i do smell the powderyness. Though that doesn't stop it being versatile. i don't think edt is an easy grab, its harsh and starchy. It Smells like ironing and it's so ubiquitous it just smells like the background. For me an easy reach is the Parfum, Dune or cologne royale by dior, l'occitane pour homme or l'ombre dans l'eau by diptyque (though i might be the only one who thinks that one lol)

    • @duplomacette

    • @duplomacette
      @duplomacette 5 років тому

      Rich Mitch I thought about that but if I can’t smell it than it’s no good as I wear perfume for myself. I suppose I could try spraying lower on my body as that seems to work with Aventus. I just know this one has a rep of questionable performance.

  • @edwinp.

    The EDT is quite harsh to my nose, especially the opening. The EDP is much smoother and better smelling. The parfum takes it even further but the performance vs cost isn't worth it. The EDP is the pick of the bunch in my opinion.

  • @HardkoreHiggins

    Great review. I think you nailed the description at 16:39. It smells mature without ever becoming unique.
    The EdP version smells warmer and more luxurious, which adds a bit to the smokey element and longevity, but it's definitively the same fragrance. So you're not missing much.

    Agree the opening is bright yet a touch scratchy of sorts. Nice fresh, clean, slightly edgy bc of the dark quality but the clean quality makes this pleasant. I get a bunch of cedar in the drydown on my skin. The woody aspects really comes out on me. I enjoy it. Thx for the content.
