- How to go from ISTANBUL to BURSA - CHEAPEST & QUICKEST WAY! TAKSIM SQUARE to BURSA OSMANGAZI
In this video, I show you how you can easily travel from Istanbul to Bursa in the cheapest and quickest way! We start our journey from Taksim Square in Istanbul and use the metro and tram service to reach the Bursa BUDO ferry port in Eminonu, then after taking the BUDO ferry to Bursa, we show how you can reach the Bursa Metro and travel to Osmangazi or anywhere within this fabulous city. You can easily do a day trip from Istanbul to Bursa using public transport in Turkey. The entire trip one-way can be done in under 60 Turkish lira, which is incredibly affordable, comfortable and quick too. The ferry tickets from Istanbul to Bursa cost just 39 Turkish Lira (TL). The Istanbul Metro tickets cost 6 TL and the Bursa Metro ticket was the same.
If you have questions such as: How do I travel from Istanbul to Bursa without a car? Then look no further. We have previously used a coach to travel from Istanbul to Bursa which was a good experience too, however, we prefer the ferry as it is much quicker, cheaper, super comfortable and you get incredible views of the Bosphorus. The Bursa ferry has a small cafe where you can buy tea, coffee, juices, toasted sandwiches, and many other refreshments. There is also sufficient leg space, as well as toilets and no traffic delays (as opposed to traveling by coach or car). Hence, traveling to Bursa using the ferry is the number one choice for us.
We show you how to get to Osmangazi, which is the historical city in Bursa, however, you can also go to many other amazing places within Bursa including the Uludağ mountain where you can go up via the teleferik (cable car). Just came from there. Some things have changed like:
1. Price of ferry from Eminonu to Mudanya via Budo ferry is now 155tl each way.
2. Note that the 1M Bus at Mudanya may charge you on the way to Emek.
3. To get to the main area we were told to get off at Sehrekustu Station and not at Osmangazi station.
Btw you need to buy a metro card at Emek which will cost 50tl and then you have to top up separately.

Thank you! If you go into the Metro station, there’s a small shop there. The guy there once helped us out to get the card out of the machine which was opposite it as we couldn’t understand the on-screen instruction

Beautiful video. How long does it take to get from Osmanghazi to Emek, and then to Mudanya?
I traveled to Bursa from Istanbul by bus around the same dates. Actually bus is good - I took a front seat and enjoyed panoramic view all way along, it was much better than the one from the ferry window which was same waterscape except when coming to Istanbul but you can enjoy those using regular ferries. I especially loved riding through Yavuz Selim bridge and Osman Gazi bridge, those are monumental buildings and the view is amazing! Bus price was very close to the ferrys' I don't remember which one was more expensive but I think it's a negligible amount.

Apologies for the late reply. I’m not so sure about Kadikoy. I’ve only ever been to the one from Eminonu. But you can go from Kadikoy to Eminonu if there’s no ferry that goes to Bursa from the former

Thank you for the kind comment! It takes 1 hour 45 minutes both ways. You can go early and come back in the evening but Bursa has a lot for you to see, so it depends on how much you want to explore
bro did you really used metro 2 times to reach to eminönü from taksim :) ? at 4:20 taksim and galata stays across the golden horn. if you walk from taksim to eminönü it would be same step numbers which you walked in stations :))))

1. Wonder is there escalator since it’s inconvenient with luggage.
2. May I know the name of the dock in bursa the ferry stops?
3. Do I need to get the ferry ticket in advance ?
4. Which area should I book my hotel to be easily accessible using public transport to most places of interest ?

Thank you! 1) There usually are escalators and/or lifts in most stations, but I can't remember for sure. 2) The Bursa ferry just has one stop, it will only stop at Bursa. 3) You can get the tickets in advance if you wish, but we got ours on the day (just allow yourself enough time to purchase the tickets before boarding). 4) I recommend booking hotel in the Osman Gazi area since all of the tourist attractions are easily accessible from there. Hope that helps.

Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it. Bursa itself should not be snowing in May. If you are asking about Uludag mountain, I don't think you can snow and consequently not ski up there as I read ski season is between October to late March

Oh, don't worry about it. I made this video 2 years ago and at that time you had to show them some proof of vaccine but now it's not needed at all.

So sorry for the late reply. Renting a car isn’t so difficult. You must have a credit card to make the hire so then it covers you for long distance travel

You arrive at Bursa. Is the bus for free, or do I have to pay for a ticket. In the metro how do i pay for ticket. I suppose I cannot use the Istanbul card, do I have tot buy a kind of Bursacard.
Yes the bus from Bursa port was for Free and this took us to Emek Metro station directly and this is where you can buy the Bursa Cart from (we already had this from our previous trip) for around 10 Turkish Liras. And it cost between 3-4 Turkish Liras each time you use the Metro. For us, it cost 4 Turkish Liras to get to the Osman Gazi area, which was really cheap

Hi thanks for the comment. In Bursa you have to use a Bursa cart, not the Istanbul one. You may be able to get this from the metro station or a small kiosk that sells newspapers etc.

I feel the best time to visit Istanbul is in the summer however, you can still enjoy the city all year round as there's so much to do there

I don't know if this buss goes back to the ferry port, but I don't see why it wouldn't go the opposite way if you know what I mean

I just got a taxi which you will find easily and it's like a 10 minute drive
How late, early, and how often does the tram run? I have a layover in Istanbul but I don't arrive until around 8pm at night then have to be back at the airport by around 11am
I feel it’s pretty regular from my own experience and I know they are operating during the times you have mentioned. I can’t remember the distance in time between each tram, but I remember it to not be a long wait at all

Sorry for the late reply. It’s easy to hire a car and just make sure you have a credit card with you so you aren’t limited to only one province of travel.
You can use google translate to get around. It’s helpful to know the language but it’s not necessary either

No, the yellow bus is just outside the ferry once you reach Bursa. This bus takes you to the metro

You can literally purchase the ticket from the actual place and I saw it costs 89 Turkish Liras now. Although you can still get a lot done in a day, you’ll need at least 3-4 days in Bursa as Uludag is a full day worth of travel and then there are other places too. So it really depends.

Hi, i just checked the ticket from Budo website. The similiar route charge 230 Tl while in your video only 39TL, has the ticket price increased significantly?
In the last two years since this video was recorded, there have been massive levels of inflation as well as the Turkish Lira has gotten weaker. This combination has brought forward this spike in prices within Turkey
Even I charged 285Tl from Yenikapi station and mine ferry boat didn’t stop anywhere.and at counter they asked for my passport and I showed them.
