- You won't believe what I found on this property. I was walking past here on my occasional morning walk and I noticed that the indoor plants were also the outdoor plants!!! It was quite remarkable to see, and the homeowner obviously needed some help, so I knocked on the door and offered my services for free. Initially, nobody was home, so I knocked on the neighbour's door and ended up speaking to an elderly neighbour in another unit. He informed me that people actually do live there, and they are quite nice and neighbourly. Taking that into consideration, I decided to come back later that same day to see if I could catch them. Luckily for me, the second time around, they were home. After a bit of a conversation and me selling the whole free cleanup thing, the owner asked his wife, and we got the nod to go ahead. As you can see, it's in a bad state, and I ended up putting in around 30 hours of work into this job. Originally, it was done over 3 episodes, that you can find below.

Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin.
Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️.
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What happened to your workers?
A: Because the work is so hard and I expect high standards, most have quit over time. The only exception so far is Nick.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

This massive job is the biggest I have seen performed by a single individual. What I like best about you is that you are meticulous in your attention to the smallest detail, going the extra mile with the repairs and any other job you deem essential to doing your best work for the client. The fact that you identify plants for us and explain your doings is a hit with me. Best guy out there!

Exactly! Other channels cause me some anxiety at times because they miss stuff or never even take just leaving heavy clippings everywhere and calling it mulch lol. He never misses a detail. Love it.

That house can finally breathe. You saved the owner from a multitude of future issues. Ivy is so destructive. It can disintegrate the mortar of the brickwork. And now they can see some repair work that needs their attention, aside from the repairs you made for them. You did an amazing job! And so complete! Never skimping or slacking.

The inside of the windows look like mould to me. It would be lovely if someone could do a makeover in the inside to match the fantastic work outside.
Oh, thanks for noting indoor mold, been looking at what George was doing that I had’t noticed. It looks like black mold and thick dust inside the window near ivy and green mold on the curtain on other side. Also wish there are indoor cleaners who can help.
Whatever you do, it is always perfect. People should see you as a role model and should try to take care of their property.
I wonder if they have managed to maintain the garden as they sould. But I am afraid I am dreaming 😅they don't even care that at least 3 of their windows were covered with ivy..... I hope they appreciate your hard work.

I love that you added supports to the deck step - and the power wash made that deck look like new! So much edging, trimming, raking, power washing, and ivy removal. I have never seen such a massive undertaking! I was so concerned when you were reaching those gutters from the top of your ladder! Talk about above and beyond! What keeps ringing true to me, is when you say that you will do an excellent job. You don't skimp out, you start the job, you finish, and you don't complain. This was good, real good... bc you pay attention to detail and did go beyond just cutting the lawn.... you pressure washed the driveway, used weed killer and repair work.... I watched others channels but I think you were by most I've seen go a lil further.... now don't get me wrong some have pressure washed but you just went a lil further and I loved it..... Details matter !!!!

I have watched a lot of videos but not many clean up as they go along. You take great care in taking up the clippings and debris so when you are finished with your work it looks immaculate. It’s hard to imagine why many houses have so many vines wrapped around their fences or houses. I would think it was an abandoned house. I really appreciate your work. You cleaned it up very carefully and you were very patient.

You inspired us up here in Ohio, USA. Our patio was getting bad, but we weedwacked, shoveled up debris, power-washed the flagstones, and now we can see the nice crisp iron edging.
This was some impressive yard cleanup. One thing that I noticed was that the wooden privacy fences surrounding the yard that you cleaned up had metal posts. I live in the U.S. and when these types of wooden fences are erected wooden posts are used which are just stuck into the ground. So, when you see yard transformation videos filmed here a hallmark of these overgrown yards is almost always collapsing wooden fences thanks to the rotting wooden posts.
The people that lives here when they come out to see the make over they will think they are in the wrong house.fantastic job on this one,George.

I absolutely hate ivy ... they make a house look haunted AND ruins any brick and mortar you have. I admire your patience in removing it from that house and makes the house look so much nicer without it. Amazing how you lifted that green rug off of the sidewalk. Great job.

Not only am I continually impressed with the professionalism and quality of your work, I also appreciate that you take the debris away. Often I see people doing the work but leaving clippings cut branches and muddy debris behind. If your assisting someone in poor health, who are unable to upkeep the yard at the moment, how are they going to get rid of the dross. I'm sure it's expensive but in my book it's that extra bit that is so warrented and appreciated. Tyvm for all your vid. Enjoy then all.
