    This was really interesting. My gran was from faifley and used to talk about the blitz. Was incredible to hear the stories she had and compare it to today.

    My Gran was at the pictures in Dumbarton when the raid began. She said that the thud thud of the bombs was so loud they could hear it over the film.

    My grandfather was killed in the blitz. He was taking his dog across kilbowie road to the woods along with his next door neighbour who was also killed. My parents eventually left Clydebank but my gran got a house in parkhall and lived there on her own til she died of old age. I can remember going up kilbowie road for years and the left hand side was just a wild field. The holy city had disappeared. A very sad sight.

      My Grandfather grew up on Maple Drive in Parkhall and was 10 turning 11 during the blitz!

      @@conormcguire2376 my gran was rehoused in maple drive and lived there til she died. I remember playing in the back garden where she grew rhubarb and vegetables. I wish I had asked her more about the blitz but as a youngster I wasn't interested then.
