Wading in Waist-High Water｜Complete Watership Down MAP

- Hello! This MAP was a collaborative effort between @Birdisjell and I. She designed all the beautiful characters. I crafted the storyboard, and together a team of fabulous animators brought this vision to life!
As my friends and I were reading Watership Down in our book club, we knew we wanted to transform our impressions from the book into a visual dedication to the novel, and Waist-High Water was born. The Fleet Foxes song has always reminded me of the southern California coast, specifically the mountains of chaparral, so I transported our rabbits here. Follow them as they journey to Watership Down.

I love this! Most Watership Down projects tend to be based around the movie or show, but I loved that you have so many things from the actual book. ^^

oh my gosh! it's here! it's actually here!! i've been following the progress of this map but i had no idea it was finished this was such a pleasant surprise! when i tell you i GASPED when i saw the notif. what a wonderful job everyone did! thank you for making this map, i've now nose-dived right back into my watership down hyperfixation 😅❤

This project is based on the original novel, actually. I highly recommend you read it, as there’s a lot of themes and characters the adaptations leave out :)

This map makes me so happy every time I watch it
Love how this included the short story dandelion tells in the book, The story of the king Lettuce. I'm surpised non of the adaptations include that.
Never forget the king’s lettuce! It is such a fun tale. I would love to adapt some of the other tales as full projects on their own.

I’m glad you enjoyed it! Many of these animators are big watership down Fans so I recommend you check them out. I don’t have any future watership down plans because these projects are super hard to host since there’s less interest

You have absolutely no idea how excited I was for this project 😭 Everyone did such a good job and the end result looks just so cool ! You did an awesome job with those designs and ideas, and even tho I still don't know anything about those rabbits besides what I learn while helping for the project, these characters now hold a special place in my little heart usually full of cats ! It was a really nice change to draw something else than our usual little kitties. I'm also eager to get me a copy of the book now thanks to you !! (also hoping that my country actually still sell them because apparentely other books from that author just... don't anymore ? and it makes me really sad)
Anyways thank you sooo much for having me draw some of those silly little bunnies, I love them and I shall protect them over anything from now on.
Also !!! The end with them at the beach was just fricking perfect !!!! I don't know whose idea it was but it's just so cool to have them hanging with each other like that, taking a well deserved break after their adventures !
Birdisjells designs are so expressive and lovely. And we had to give them a beach episode to relax after all that chaos!

I can tell you that there are several rabbits in it. There’s a Netflix series and the original animated film if you’re a visual person!
