Matt harvested the deer, made the deer soup AND the croutons to top it off! He’s a keeper💕
😀 He is!
Yes. See? We guys are good for a few things once and a while. Just give us some time. We can surprise.
Tell us the truth Tipper. You're holding Matt hostage, aren't you?
HE'S BLINKING IN MORSE CODE!!!
😀 LOL
@@noname-zg8lh he’s institutionalized (married)
😂🤣
That's what I was thinking, why say anything, ruin a good thing.😁
Matt can do electrical wiring, build a house, garden, hunt, be a great father, and he's also a good Cook! He's a keeper, Tipper! ;)
He is 😀
I got the notification for this video, as I was starting to sort/rinse/soak beans. I listened to it while I worked, but watched a second time because I had not given it the attention it deserved. I didn't want to miss anything. Watching Matt in the kitchen reminded me how far he's come in the last year. The once-shy deer hunter is now giving cooking lessons! That is so cool. It really is a family affair now, Tipper!
Congratulations to Matt on his deer harvest. Filling a deer tag with a bow is not something every hunter can do. Hopefully it was cold enough to let the deer hang overnight, so Matt didn't have to process it immediately.
Meat in the freezer--it's the same rewarding feeling that comes from harvesting vegetables!
Thank you Roland!! It is a very good feeling 😀
How long does Matt let his deer hang?
@@granada025 We don't have a place to hang since the weather is usually to warm here, but he leaves the meat on ice in a cooler for about 5 days 😀
Matt is a gem. I love the way the two of you function together. 🥰
Congrats on the deer!
Homemade croutons are always better than store bought ones and Matt’s croutons look delicious! Congratulations on getting that deer too, Matt. Great meal for a cold night ! I really enjoyed this video. Hope y’all have a wonderful week.
I love the sight and sound of a happy family at home eating dinner🥰
Thank you Rhonda!!
I make croutons too in a similar fashion. I cube my bread slices first and toss them in the olive oil mixture then bake. Stir part way through the baking process. I also sprinkle parmesan cheese on mine before baking. Love the croutons!! Matt did a great job and now I want a salad with croutons!!
Thank you. Rebecca! We need to add the cheese next time 😀
The soup and mainly those croutons lol looked delicious! From now on I won’t buy them from the store. You could even freeze them I imagine. Now I would like to see some deer meat smothered in gravy. Maybe in the crockpot or on top of the stove. Maybe cook it all day for maximum tenderness. Oh and I would also love to see Matt show us his deer roast soup recipe. Tipper sure doesn’t have Matt hog tied! He knows a good thing when he has it! And Tipper knows it too! Thanks Matt and Tipper for showing us how to make croutons!
😀 Thank you Sherry!
He has “workers hands”. Sign of a hardworking outdoorsman. Thank you for sharing your stories and recipes. 😊
Emotion
😀 So glad you enjoy them! He is the hardest working man I know
I have family that lives in the south, not Appalachia, and one thing of the many things that I admire about southerners is their resourcefulness. Making croutons out of white bread is just another example of it. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thank you Patrick 😀
Congratulations to Matt, the mighty Nimrod! So wonderful that he can provide for his family with his own hands. God bless.
Thank you 😀
@@thedoobiesisterssackblabba7181
Shaking my head too.
Everyone in the kitchen, talking, smiling and eating good food. So nice to watch! Congratulations on getting a deer. I know Matt will make use of every part. Does he process it himself or send it out?
So glad you enjoyed it! He process it all 😀
What a brilliant way to make croutons! Thank you Matt and Tipper. They look delicious.
Glad you enjoyed it Robin 😀
Loved this ! Nothing better than great times with the family ! Matt can do anything, great husband, great father, he's an awesome man ! The deer stew looks so delicious! I'm going to have to prepare some of those croutons! Congratulations on the deer harvest Matt! Brings back great memories of years gone by when we harvested a deer and the family joined us at the house to dress the deer and we'd eat and fellowship afterwards...great times ...thanks tipper.. appreciate y'all...God bless....🙏❤
Thank you Ben! Great memories for sure 😀
“Paint the bread”😄…Love it!
I make my own croutons with white bread too. I’m going to try it like this next time. Way to go Matt👍🏼
😀 Thank you 😀
When Matt painted the bread it made me think of my kindergarten class using food coloring in a little bit of milk to paint their white bread before toasting it. We did some form of cooking each Friday. It was a wonderful (and delicious)way to incorporate math, social studies, science and language arts.
I will be making deer meat soup for my husbands deer camp this weekend. My recipe is a little different as I am soaking some beans for it now and the veggies are all I have canned from my garden this year! ☺️. The croutons look yummy-I may have to make those as well!
That looks delish. Congrats on the deer!
Thank you 😀
Hi Tipper! I knew that you could make croutons out of bread, but I haven’t ever seen anyone do it before today, so I’m looking forward to trying it sometime! That deer stew looked awesome. I love the idea of adding rice.:)) And Congratulations on your “2022 🦌 Deer,” Matt! I think that’s the biggest smile we’ve seen on your face yet, or ever, at the end of this video. Haha! Great Job!👍 God Bless, Pressley Fam!!🙏🏼
Thank you 😀
Great job Matt! They look yummy and I do believe I could smell them cooking😊Congratulations on getting a deer!! I love your family😁
You'ns cook so much like we do. I'm gonna have to make us some croutons for our soup. Today I had a piece of sirloin that had been too long in the freezer to be good on the grill ,so I made it into steak soup. It turned off cold this afternoon and when Gail came in from shopping, the hot soup made her day. I knew I'd got a good scald on that hog when she started going "Hmmmmmm". Matt and I cook alike: Kentucky windage. My wife is a great cook but must have a recipe. She lacks the confidence of guesstimates. If we were neighbors we'd enjoy the fellowship of an occasional carry in meal. Hot soup makes winter go so much better. Love Y'all.
Just think... if Matt had not spent that extra time at home making a cooking video that deer might not have walked past him when it did. Gifts from above. Congratulations and good eating.
Another Chef Matt orginal and did you see that brush work, I be thats how Van Gogh did it.
😀 Thank you Tom
Congratulations on the deer. My husband and son both hunt and we process all the meat ourselves. My son got an 8 pt the first weekend and unfortunately didn’t get to hunt over The thanksgiving holiday due to having the flu and being really sick. My husband said he had never seen anything keep our son out of his stand before. Hopefully my husband and son will be able to fill their tags and freezer before season is over. Thanks for sharing the recipe for croutons, I can’t wait to try it
My family makes garlic bread in a similar fashion. This looks so easy even I could do this. I really enjoyed watching. I appreciate you putting out good, clean, family friendly content we all can enjoy. I am new to your channel but I look forward to seeing what you will upload next. I particularly like the strong sense of family that is in every episode. Your family reminds me my family in many ways. My Granny is no longer with us but hearing and seeing stories you upload reminds me of times with her. I know you probably have little or no free time but if you would consider checking out what I have going on in my channel, Connor's Curiosity I would greatly appreciate it I uploaded a video today. It's my first ever bass tournament. I also recently uploaded a game camera video your husband and girls might like to watch. Thank you again for offering us content to enjoy. I hope your day goes well. Connor
Thank you Connor! So glad you enjoy our videos 😀
Have u ever thought of renting out Matt? He seems to know how to do lots of things. On Smart News the other day I noted that a woman was renting out her husband for $45 an hour. He was a fixer upper.
I make croutons from white bread too, But I cube the bread first. I think I would like Matt's way better....gonna be finding out. 😀 Also, we had stack cake for Thanksgiving too, but my grandma in eastern NC called it old fashioned chocolate cake.
Hey there Matt you did great on this day !!! Croutons and a BUCK for YOURSELF !!!
The soup and croutons look delicious. Nice way to celebrate Matt getting a deer even if it was planned before he went hunting. My friend’s 11-year-old son got his first deer this past weekend. 10 points - beginner’s luck! 🦌
Thank you Susan!!
There's never a dull moment at the Pressley House, there is always something interesting going on! Congratulations on bringing that deer down! You all will eat hearty this winter...like you usually do!
I never thought of making my own croutons, but it looks simple enough, and I can control the texture. The croutons that come in a Caesar salad kit I often prepare are too dry for my taste, especially since there's never enough dressing to cover all the lettuce.
To me there is no such thing as too much butter and garlic on toasted bread.
I am NOT one to poopoo deer hunting! Good for Y'all
I don't think Matt will complain about staying in the kitchen for a while. The timing was perfect to go out into the woods🪵 to get his favorite 🦌meat. I am confident this is going to be the best hunting season for Matt. Tipper, you might need to buy another freezer 🤗 Have a blessed day 🙏💕
I just love the way Matt does this!! I've always done it with butter and mixing in the seasonings, and it's kinda messy. And I've always used light bread too honey, but after this vid,
Matt's version is now my new go to!!!!❤ I always LOVE watching ya'll and your beautiful girls together. Such great foods, togetherness and real love in your home. And Tipper, I gotta tell ya darlin, that "Yes ma'am" and "You're welcome " from Matt before he left...ughhhh, that!!! THAT right there 👏👏👏👏, gurl..
is IT 💙 💙 What a PRECIOUS gentleman, loving and respectful husband and role model ❤️
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it!
Good shooting Mattt! Good harvest. Great cooking as always Tipper and Matt!
Thank you Chris 😀
Congratulations on the deer.My favorite meat is deer.I love watching your family together and seeing y’all smile at each other.
I’m definitely going to try this. They look so good! Thanks Matt .😊🇨🇦
I gotta make some! I absolutely love that idea! That Matt is a resourceful guy! When you can learn to use what you already have, you already a great cook! Thank you two for sharing!
🤩 Is this cool or what? A full freezer after harvesting a deer and the man is now making CROUTONS. Dang!
😀
I love homemade croutons, but never tried whole slices, I usually cube & dip into my seasoned oil…but I will try his way…congratulations to Matt for harvesting a deer…❤️
Thank you Brenda 😀
Congratulations Matt looks like a nice buck but it doesn't matter about the horns you can't eat them anyway lol !!!!
So true! Thank you David 😀
Yummy and not in my tummy friends enjoyed the video have a day love from TEXAS
Glad you enjoyed it 😀
I make some bread up like that, then cut a hole out the middle with a juice cup ,and fry it with a egg in the hole in the middle.
Call it egg in the basket. Some people call it red eye.
That sounds good 😀
No measuring cups or spoons for Matt. He does it by "feel."
😀
Why does a man throw a perfectly good spoon in the sink and then use some OTHER utensil to start a stirrin' something?
😀 He swapped it for a basting brush
shucks how im gonna make it fer supper from colorado
😀
Ya'll soooooo precious!!! ty..xoxo 🥰🤟✌👍🖐🤪
Thank you 😀
That deer meat looks absolutely delicious
Thank you 😀
Whoever did the camera work for Matt's cooking did a nice job.
I've been wanting to make some croutons. I've been missing the ones my mom made; store-bought aren't anywhere near as good. Mom made hers from stale bread, cut the bread before cooking, and cooked them in a skillet. Mine aren't as good as hers and watching Matt makes me think I don't use enough oil. One day I'll get it right!
Congratulations on getting your winter meat laid in.
Thank you!!
Yum! Yum! Those croutons are something I am going to make!
What kind of sauce do you put on the Apple Stack cake?
I hope you enjoy them! I cook down dried apples with sugar and spices for the cake. 😀 You can see a video on it here: ua-cam.com/video/bSLIWzLVFzk/v-deo.html
@@CelebratingAppalachia Thank you!
oh dear, poor deer
Excellent!!! I added salt to mine, just wonderful & so easy to make.
Awesome and thanks for showing this. Big Congrats on the Deer. I'm still hunting, but for a trophy. My meat hunting is normally wild hogs and I'll move over to doing that in a month or so. Nothing better than some free range wildlife to be able to harvest, prepare and eat. Thanks for sharing and we'll see yall next time.
Those look delicious and easy! Thank you MATT, Thank you TIPPER!! 🙌🏼 💓
We will definitely try this.We use Light bread for everything too.Congrats on the deer.Have a blessed night.
When it comes to eating, Matt don't play.
😀
I just love your beautiful family ❤
Thank you so much!
That Thanksgiving roast and juice would make delicious Pennsylvania dutch pot pie! Please try it sometime!
Congratulations!! And thank you for showing us how you make your croutons. I will definitely do this!!
Those look good. Growing up, light bread was the garlic bread, for sandwiches and hotdog and hamburger buns.
Congratulations Matt! I love bow hunting! That soup looked awesome! I think venison makes the absolutely best Chile too. Ground very course or even chunked or a mixture of it. 😋😋😋
God bless all here!
Great watching you both together. Those croutons look like they would be great in a salad as well. 👍🏻 p.S. I live up here in the Northeast in the very wealthy Fairfield County Connecticut and we still have men that love to go hunting. Matter fact we have a Bass Pro shop about 10 minutes from my house. I once had alligator nuggets there. 🐊.p.s.s. My nieces and nephews all did volunteering in the summertime for a group called “friends of Appalachia”. They would go to Kentucky by bus and they would help repair homes for the needy.
Those croutons look delicious!!! Thanks Matt for sharing! God bless!! 💕🙏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it 😀
You are awesome. To have the obvious adoration of a Man like Matt. Wow. Usually he has his head down under his hat brim. But today he was looking straight into the camera. WOW! What eyes. Reminds me of my gorgeous husbands that he usually keeps down to. Gotta go see about the deer. Adore your family Tipper.
Those would be yummy on top of a bowl of tomato soup
That would be good 😀
Congratulations Matt, and I cook like Matt I never measure anything
Croutons looked very tasty! And congrats to Matt on the buck!👏🦌
Y'all are a good looking couple! Have you ever showed the channel some throw back pictures of you 2 or all 4 of ya? Have a great night! -much love from NJ ~Mary & fam
Looks great! I think that I make mine a little different each time, whatever I have on hand. Sprinkle a little cheese on em when eating them on a salad. Good job getting another deer Matt. 🤔That looks like one of your 10 layer Apple Stack cakes Tipper 😋. I think that's what you called it 😉.
Loved seeing the end with the family talking and laughing. Wish it hadn’t speeded up because that was my favorite part. I have an extra loaf of white bread leftover from Thanksgiving that I didn’t use for stuffing. Now i know how I’ll use it, thank you.
Matt, you stole my sketti bread recipe! Lol. I use light bread for hot dog buns more often than not, to the point that when I was California the cashier saw I had 3 pks of hot dogs and no buns, but I had 2 loaves of light bread, she said " did you forget buns"‽ I said no ma'am, most of the time I just use a piece of bread. She looked at me like I was from planet Neptune or something. It was funny.
Nice deer!
I absolutely love hearing words I haven't heard much since my mom and dad passed. Light bread was one I heard often. I miss hearing the different words and phrases. My mom and dad were from KY. When we'd go back and visit there I'd see just how friendly and sweet southern people are. God bless.
Those looked so good, I'm gonna try & make them ...I think once you cut them in straps, they would be good to dip in marinara sauce...thanks for sharing
I’ve only had deer meat a couple times, but didn’t really enjoy it. Maybe it wasn’t prepared the right way. However, I’m going to try those croutons. They looked good! 😋
I grew up.with cornbread and biscuits. We had light bread but never ate it with a meal. We rarely had sandwiches ( other than biscuit sandwiches). My husband eats light bread and butter with every meal. He had never eaten a tomato sandwich! I love learning about other families' customs. Thank you for sharing your family with us.
Lordy LORD, it's amazing to me how ya'll stayed outta those croutons, it would have been the first thing I'd have dug into after they came outta the oven!!!
Thanks Matt for the crouton recipe ! I also love garlic. Garlic and olive oil are a healthy staple in my family's cooking. I will be making this crouton recipe for my next batch of soup.
CONGRATULATIONS on Matt getting a Deer!! Great croutons! Nothing like being able to live off the land. The way god meant it to be!
When I was a kid, we used light bread with pizza sauce, pepperoni and a kraft cheese slice broiled for a few minutes for a quick pizza 😋
Please share the recipe for Matt’s deer meat soup! Thanks for the great crouton recipe! Blessings to you and yours ❤
I need to try making my own croutons! I live black pepper too I put it on everything. I don’t do salt much except on potatoes, tomatoes and eggs.
Delicious, I'll definitely give those croutons a try. My son in law got a deer this year as well, he does bow hunting and my daughter, and her husband will eat well until next deer season. I'd love it if you could post a recipe for the deer meat soup, we are soup eaters and I'm sure my daughter would love to try your recipe. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I'm definitely doing these croutons ♡
I love watching you prepare and cook. The nice slower pace of cooking is relaxing to watch and easier to remember how its done. Thank you!
Love seeing that bag of light bread Tipper! I retired from a company that got its start making Sunbeam bread.
Yum! I use white bread for garlic bread but never thought to use olive oil. Great idea! I will have to try this.
Hope you like it 😀
The most important thing about Matt is that he is a family man. Not only does he take responsibility for feeding his family, his daughters have been watching and learning. There will be no deadbeats marrying the Pressley girls.
I love croutons! Congratulations on the deer! My father used to go deer hunting before I was old enough to go hunting with him. He suffered a severe stroke before we were able to go on our first hunt. However, I remember when he used to bring home a deer, we used to hang it on one of our trees. It used to traumatize my sister's friends in the neighborhood. It was awesome!! To all those in states that can get a firearms license, a hunting license, and want to go out hunting, I highly recommend it. In my state, ones with clean records and who wish to legally own firearms have a long battle and red tape to get one. Over here, only unlicensed criminals have firearms left and right. I think a bow is the best bet. It's great to see a bow hunter. More power to you, Matt!
Matt's croutons look great! He puts the same herbs and spices on that I like. I don't like mine real hard either. Just like he said.
That looks good enough to eat before toasting. I’ll bet it would make a good bologna sandwich after toasting.
I bet it would 😀 Thank you!
Thanks for the video.
Interesting observation I have made is how many videos I have seen where men wore caps and hats inside the house and at dinner table. No critique or malice with this observation, I just immediately pick up on that, for in our neck of the woods we were taught to remove a hat when inside a house or even when eating outside. Maybe this is just an old European tradition.
Congratulations Matt!! Nice buck there!
That is a neat way to make croutons. Congratulations on your deer Matt.
Glad yall got some meat for the freezer 😋
We are too 😀
Your bread slices look like the quick garlic toast I make to go with my spaghetti dinner.
I love homemade croutons. Way to go on that nice looking buck Mr. Deer Hunter ! 🦌🤙
I just learned a new saying. Painting the bread. You'd think since I'm born and raised in the backwoods of South ga I would have heard it before now. But the fact that yawl live in the mountains yawl have sayings that nobody else has
Thanks Matt!
And, of course, Tipper as well.
I am dribbling! My hubby doesn't know how to switch the cooker on!
