I saw them about a year ago in San Diego & they opened the show with this. This is the one song I thought I would never get to hear live. I had goose bumps from head to toe.... It sounded fucking perfect too.
Well, On This camera the memory ran out. I do have another 12 minute video recorded on another camera but its a quicktime video which looks like shit on youtube and the audio gets out of sync. Maybe some day I can do something to fix it.
Amen brother. Fat Mike does some tricky shit just like Freeman, but Freeman's tone is a little cooler and really gives Rancid its character. I'm glad to see all these comments on here spreading agreement and praise to the right people too! I guess that's what happens when you show people a GREAT video lke this. I bought the Decline thinking there was more songs when I first heard about it, now I still think it's one of the catchiest NOFX tunes ever. halfway is best, the mellow parts...
this song is so dead-on politically, its sad and beautiful at the same time. it brings tears to my eyes. i am so glad i got to see this song played live in person, and feel sorry for those who never will
@danierurodedu you have to be lucky as fuck. i saw them play the decline in its entirety, all glorious 18 minutes in st. louis on may 1st, the first show they've played there in 12 years and it was the best thing i've ever seen...period.
hahah sucks to be everybody but me. I saw NOFX play the decline for the first time ever live in Toronto! IT was soo wicked... probably the wickedest thing a person could experience in life! My buddy caught a drumstick after it too haha P.S. You all suck for not being there
@jrack13 Hefe is not the best guitarist in punk. He is among the best but I'd say Warren Fitzgerald is better. Nobody in NOFX is the BEST at what they do but it's the fact that they are all AMONG the best, and that they are so tight together, plus Mike's songwriting that makes them the second-best punk band in the world. After Bad Religion of course.
freeman would never play anything special liek mike does, som jazz stuff filled with punk feeling, freeman just plays bass as he would be some lead guitarist ,dude....mike is more punk than him
freeman is more technical, but he's not singin lead simultaneously, and hes definately not as entertaining when it comes to stage presence. fat mike is fuckin great.

You should download it. One of the best socio-political commentaries I've ever heard. And Fat Mike's bass playing is again nothing short of awesome.
