Been having crackles with my amd system only with interfaces and only when using a DAW or crypto minin but not when gaming. Sometimes when I use many plugins my pc shuts down and reboots, i have lots of PSU wattage left and bios set to not reboot if power is out so it’s not my psu, I tried all the tutorials for optimization, what do you think might be going on? Are these cpu dropouts ? My cpu usage is never above 3%
Crackles are usually not related to CPU, but buffer size settings. CPU issues cause more commonly drop outs. Sometimes crackles also have to do with the driver used. Since you wrote a lot, but not info that helps me troubleshoot it's hard to tell. Not much into PC stuff anymore either as I haven't had one in over 10 years. Have you tried Ableton tech support for help?
It ended up being a problem with energy star ready or pcie 4.0 in my motherboard creating usb and cpu dropouts, I disabled energy saving and switched pcie x16 lane to 3.0 and it works well now
Would you like to do a video on how to optimize live and a mac if there are dropouts and cpu tends to runt too high even if there are less than 15 tracks in a project? I haven't found a good answer how to do do this.
Ableton has something for that already: help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209071269-Reducing-the-CPU-load
Ok, so I have a cpu dropout. But what is causing it and how do I fix it? (Or need I)
Computer brand new with lots of power and not v heavy loaded.
insanely useful.. thank you
I’m having issues with ableton on an M1 so I’m assuming it’s the hardware, I only get a few drop outs when rendering a master :( i use hardware so unfortunately this doesn’t work on these new machines. Thanks for the tips :)
Have you checked if there's a new driver for your audio interface? That's another possible source where the issues could come from.
@@sonicbloomtuts I’ve got a RME Fireface, 30 I/O but had to hack the M1 to get it to work (as directed by RME) I only get drop outs when I render the final so I had an idea - I will render it within the project as a resample (praying it works). And thank you for your idea
@@sonicbloomtuts I’ve fixed it - I was exporting a wav and MP3 (which it allows.) at the same time. I just rendered wav only and no dropouts! Only took 11 of the 12 week demo😂😂 will purchase it happy now :)
I'm tried to use real-time rendering for analog summing when stem mastering. Everything was great during normal DAW playback, all levels correct, all compressors and limiters being hit according to design. But as soon as I started the real-time rendering, volume level would jump more than +6dB. This was, of course, unwanted behavior, and simply ruined the master. I couldn't figure it out, so I had to switch to recording my master into a resampling track.
It sounds like the limiters and compressors are adding volume to the individual stems. If you have any of them on the master, they'd have to be deactivated to avoid a volume gain.
Great tip! Thanks!
thank you so much! you're a life saver
Nice tip!
Could someone please help me?. I was using Ableton MIDI keyboard with no problem, but suddenly it stopped producing sounds, I can see the MIDI tack signal indicator working whenever I press a key but no sound is produced
@@lmclrain Glad to hear it! any issues or general questions, just message me, I'm always glad to help.
Why not just record a "resample" track?
You can export the exact length you need and you don't need to be present to stop the recording as when resampling. This is most useful for bouncing mixes that then are sent to mastering.
holy moly kooool
AWESOME! ... It tip SAVES my day! ... Thank you!!!
No worries! 😀
