Everyone has their favorite bands to listen to, I'm happy that I could react to one of yours. I hope that you find other songs and groups to enjoy as well on my channel.
Growing up as a teen in Europe Abba was like lifeline oxygene for us.They were EVERYWHER and longlasting. As some other fellas once stated 'Back then We didn't need Prozac we had ABBA",/'ABBA were our fairytale" and the perfumed soundscape of our childhood.
A masterpiece of 🅰️🅱️🅱️🅰️. This performance took place in 1980. In that year, the divorce of Agnetha (the blonde singer) and Björn (at her side with the acoustic guitar) was resolved (although they had already been separated for almost two years). The following year, Frida (the other singer) and Benny, the man at the piano, divorced... The four continued as a band until 1982 (at least in their first stage). Great react, by the way👌. Please more 🅰️🅱️🅱️🅰️ 🙏... Greetings ❤ from Chile 🇨🇱🤗👍
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the background story of this incredible group that put decades of music on notice! I have always liked most of ABBA's music and I will be getting around to reacting to some more down the road. There are so many great groups and I'm trying to give everyone a turn on the channel to bring new eyes and ears to music they have never seen before.
Bjorn said it was mostly fiction but far later on he kinda stated it was also somewhere between fiction and reality cause it was kinda subconsciously influenced by their breakup. When the finalised result of the song was presented and Agnetha first sang the backing track he thought 'God there's so much emotion in it",as he said 'there was not a dry eye in the house"-Bjorn Ulveaus on a Swedish interview about this song in 2021.
Either way he wrote it for, fact or fiction, It's an incredible song with a very true meaning. In breakups, there are no winners, you've both lost a relationship.
Growing up this was the band of all bands for their song style. I had a lot of ABBA songs on tape. yes I said tape. Nice reaction my friend and hope to see more from you. Peace and caring to you from further east.
ABBA is acronim with initials of Their first names, two swedish couples: Agnetha (blonde singer) & Björn (guitarist songwriter) Benny (pianist songwriter) & Anni Frid 'Frida' (brunette singer) both couples separated before the break up of the group "The winner takes it all" (1980) is one of the Best Songs by ABBA and the Most sad and emotional too The best lyrics and the greatest performing with the amazing Interpretation of the lead singer in this TV show express at Germany 1980 you could see the same blonde Agnetha free and natural in the next song "Super Trouper" and very energetic in the last song "On and on and on" (and with her ex husband) but the people who see it only here (and not the whole mini show) are left with the incomplete morbidity of the guitarist who wrote the song for their recently divorced ex-wife But it's a performance of ABBA, with magnificent interpretation of Agnetha, that She knows how to transmit with Her gestures and body and facial expression the spirit and feeling of the songs (I remember Her in others songs before like "S.O.S." or "I've been waiting for You" from 1975, when She was happily married) The lyrics is a fiction, it is not about Their real life, although it is obviously influenced by Their own experiences and the realization of the legal divorce in the middle of 1980, even though They were no longer a couple or lived together more than a year and half ago, at the end of 1978 I suggest to see the next songs in these TV show: "Super Trouper" with the brunette singer Frida in lead voice (same TV studio, staff and outfits) ABBA have more than 20 worldwide hits between 1972/1982, included: Waterloo, Fernando, Dancing Queen, Take a chance on me, Chiquitita All these songs are in your album recopilation GOLD (1992) that have much more than 1.000 weeks at Top 100 in UK Official Charts (first group singer or artist to do it)
Thank you so much for your insightful look and information into this wonderful group. Your comments add so much more of a personal connection with this group, it makes me like them even more. I hope that your comments will create the same feeling for this group for anyone else who reads them.
@@Crazykid949 Thanks for your words something more about the song 1) returns ABBA to #1 in UK after two years and half 2) eighth #1 to ABBA in UK official charts 3) #8 in US Billboard and last Top10 to ABBA in US 4) #1 in US Adult Contemporary (second to ABBA) 5) voted as the Best ABBA song for British fans 6) favourite ABBA song to the lead singer Agnetha 7) last song in the set list of new Voyage Concerts in ABBA Arena at London UK since May 2022 my kind regards from Buenos Aires , Argentina, South America
@@eduardooscar309 It's nice to find a super fan of a group that I cover that can give such great feedback and information about the group that I cover, Thanks you for your awesome detailed information about ABBA. This is the kinds of comments that bring new people into finding music they may have overlooked in the past.
I learned about that on - The Professor Of Rock - UA-cam channel. He really dives deep into the stories behind the bands and their songs. He has a great channel and I suggest that people go and learn about songs and artists as I have.
The message behind the creation of this song has sometimes been misinterpreted into thinking that it's about a victory over challenge. When I listened to "The Professor of Rock" explain the story behind the creation of this song, it really then made sense to me. Kidna funny how sometimes a song can take different people on different journeys into what they think the song is about.
ABBA was my youth, I grew up with them. If you haven't done it yet, I highly suggest that you listen to Swedish metal singer Tommy Johansson's performance of this song. He has also covered (ABBA's) Money Money Money. Greetings from Germany!
Germany was another country that Abba were really huuuge there and still are.Their 2021 no1 VOYAGE album became the best seller of the year there within 2 months(Nov-Dec) even after almost 40 years of their hiatus.People could just not forget.
Best band ever

I like the way you put the "purfumed by our childhood" that almost sounds like a refreshing way to remember it.
and there just as relevant today with mamma mia and voyage show in london

ABBA does have a collection of great songs, I will be getting some more into the line up as I can.
ABBA is acronim with initials of Their first names,
two swedish couples:
Agnetha (blonde singer) &
Björn (guitarist songwriter)
Benny (pianist songwriter) &
Anni Frid 'Frida' (brunette singer)
both couples separated before the break up of the group
"The winner takes it all" (1980)
is one of the Best Songs by ABBA
and the Most sad and emotional too
The best lyrics and the greatest performing with the amazing Interpretation of the lead singer
in this TV show express at Germany 1980 you could see the same blonde Agnetha free and natural in the next song "Super Trouper" and very energetic in the last song "On and on and on" (and with her ex husband)
but the people who see it only here (and not the whole mini show) are left with the incomplete morbidity of the guitarist who wrote the song for their recently divorced ex-wife
But it's a performance of ABBA, with magnificent interpretation of Agnetha, that She knows how to transmit with Her gestures and body and facial expression the spirit and feeling of the songs (I remember Her in others songs before like "S.O.S." or "I've been waiting for You" from 1975, when She was happily married)

I suggest to see the next songs in these TV show:
"Super Trouper"
with the brunette singer Frida in lead voice
(same TV studio, staff and outfits)
ABBA have more than 20 worldwide hits between 1972/1982, included:
Waterloo, Fernando, Dancing Queen,
Take a chance on me, Chiquitita
