    There is some passion in the playing here. Severin also created some fantastic nervous basslines like this on Tinderbox, "The Sweetest Chill", "Cannons", "Parties Fall", what great parts as well. I suggest ;)

      @@ioannist.5568 He was also strumming all his bass chords with a plectrum downside-up: that was his own trick. He was the only post-punk bassist to play like that. I dunno how he managed to keep this technique for 20 years, Scratching the chords from the bottom to the top must have killed his wrist more than once. He used to strike the chords like that to get a deeper, richer sound

      @@carljules3123 That is interesting. Well I guess it is a matter of personal preference and convenience. I wouldn't try that 😅

      I will cover your band too Maiki. Was wondering what synths and drum machines you were using during that period. I listened to a collection of tape demos and they sounded pretty rough and nice!

    • @maikisan2981
      @maikisan2981 4 роки тому

      Yes it was rough 😉 The synth sound of "Viva now" cames from the Roland D20. All the other drum effects based on a little keyboard synth (i forgot the name) an the drum synthi (placed on the tom). We had a great drummer, in the early years influenced by Steven Morris.

    Thanks for this! I love actually hearing the bass line out front, loud and clear! Great job, sir! I'd really enjoy seeing you play many other classic Siouxsie tunes, such as Dazzle, Into the light, Monitor, Arabian Knights, Night Shift, Cascade, and Bring me the head of the Preacher man, plus many more, because you ROCK!!!!

    Severin had to be good with John Mcgeogh on guitar. A lesser player would get lost.
    A good rhythm section makes a band in my opinion, and Severin and budgie are right up there with the best👍
