I actually feel like the first girl transmitted everything the music required. I'm surprised people aren't more impressed with her. She hit every beat, every lyric, every fluid movement, even the little flurry of hits in the middle... I thought her performance was perfect and made me really feel the music. I didn't feel that with the second dancer. The only thing I can think that the second dancer did better was facials...

That's usually a good thing in choreographed pieces, but when you compare it to the absolute flare/ attitude the second girl brought into the choreography, it makes the first girl seem paler in comparison. First girl did the choreography flawlessly, second girl did the choreography flawlessly AND made it her own.

In my eyes, she brought the music to life, timing, intensity, fluidity, hitting those staccato beats, everything. Whereas with the second girl, I would occasionally lose the music because she was going too hard or didn't hit the lyrics quite right. That's just how I saw it.

As I've stated before, the first girl did it flawlessly (as in did the choreo how it was presented to her) but the 2nd girl was one with the music. She didn't just dance, she performed. The eye contact, the smile, the flow between movements, the display of athleticism as well as grace and had this kind of controlled or softer power that the song itself has as well. This is definitely an argument of technique vs power/ fluidity. All depends on what you prefer.

I think apart from the splits that the first girl did too fast (I rewatched), the music was visible in the firsr girl's body and at just the right intensity. But I also rewatched the second girl and she did do a spectacular job, not as off on timing as I thought. Just not my preference, I guess. I prefer the first girl's execution. Some of my favorite moments are the beginning when she throws her hands back on the floor to go into a body roll and she somehow made it look soft and flowy just like the music, and when she rolls/arches her back to a stand with her feet together later on and it was exactly on time and a big enough movement to match. Oh also near the end, when she throws her head back on the spin and uses her legs to make the beats very visible. And the quick little hits she did with her head, of course. I thought that was perfect because it really sounds like a fast back and forth. I thought it was mesmerizing overall. Was just disappointed that there weren't more people giving her credit. I have a big passion for dance, so if I feel like I can SEE every little part of the music you're hitting, then I'm hooked.
