    Thanks for this video. Was carrying out general maintenance on my new bike (different bike to the video) and noticed slight play in the rear hub/sprocket assembly. Now I know exactly why. Saved me a call to the dealer! 👌👍

    Gotta say thanks, Matt! I have some very basic mechanical skill and your videos have totally made servicing my own g310r possible! Thank you so much for the deep dive on this great little bike.

    Thanks for the explanation!. I own a G310 GS and it is my first time in my life that I see this in a bike. I had Hondas XR, CR, CRF and I never saw this Mechanical solution of rubbers with the sprocket. Now I know. Thanks again for your help to understand and not call the dealer.
    Best regards from Chile.

    Thanks for your great explanation! I have a small 125cc street bike with only 2000km on it. I noticed a very small play on the sprocket. Now I know it’s ok if it has a small play. Thanks

    With modern bikes there is more often than not provision for the fitting of 'bobbins' for using a 'stand' to ease removal of the rear wheel. Have you noticed on the G310R by the rear axle 'slots' the unpainted but machined round 'bosses' that achieve nothing but hint at the possibility that these could be used for that purpose which would be a welcome bonus for owners. Thank you. Love your postings.

    Huh, guess that explains that. i noticed movement on my rear sprocket and when i removed my wheel to have the tire replaced, i noticed the cush drive and thought mine was just worn out. which it may still be. Theres a fair bit of wear and tear on the contact surfaces of the rubber. may still go ahead and replace mine as its only $20. Oh and mine is on a low end, budget Suzuki beginner cruiser, the GZ250.

    Hey Matt,
    So, my rear sprocket was way loose than normal on my KTM Duke 390, gave it to the service center and got it back with just as that much play on the BMW you got there. Honestly don't remember if it was there to begin with.

    • @MattsMotoWoRX

      Sagar Thapa most bikes will have about the same amount of play as the BMW

    my dr650 is the same, I went to the bike shop and checked others like ktm 690, 390 and some yamaha and none of them had any play, the mechanic told me it should not move at all but you're saying its normal and im confused.

    • @jeffloucks2120
      @jeffloucks2120 3 роки тому +1

      My KTM 390 has this same play. None of the dozen or so bikes I've owned over the last nearly 25 yrs has ever been like this. Even after countless track days and roadracing. Probably thousands of clutchless upshifts. Have never worn one out and they always fit snug.
      Odd to me that these new lower output bikes seem to have so much play in them.

  • @vijayam1
    @vijayam1 Рік тому

    Matt, I've observed very mild wobble on the rear sprocket, on most bikes, is that normal? The rear sprocket is perfectly flat, cush drives are good, the carrier, bearings are all in top nick, yet there's every so slightly a wobble. Your thoughts...

    • @MattsMotoWoRX
      @MattsMotoWoRX  Рік тому +1

      Everything is designed to have some movement and slight wiggle. I wouldn’t worry until it’s noticeable when your riding the bike

      Usually when they have this much play in them ! Unless something has changed in recent years they've always fit in snug and remained that way until really worn.

    EBR does NOT have the cush drive. It has a 3rd wheel that controls the tension of the chain under sudden drive and deceleration.
