Mate, I've been watching you for 4 years now, basically since I started to teach myself how to code, now I've been working as a Web dev for 3 years. Just want to say you are a great person and set good examples, keep doing what you're doing! Love from London and hope you enjoy your stay!

I remember moving overseas, penthouse top floor, bathroom all black and gold... I was inside my Jacuzzi... Thinking, I've made it from the projects to the top.. is that it? Feeling depressed like crazy... Right there, I understood why so many millionaires and billionaires are depressed. I needed this video thank you!

Hi Chris, this is a good video it really encapsulates how life truly can be very complicated especially when we have made the money and we have "Made It". Personally helping people is a great goal so how you feel there is really good. I know what its like to be really poor and I still am struggling but I have improved my financial situation with tech as well but not near as much as yours however I have a beautiful family many children and I love my music and religion as well. Health is another thing that I am into because without it life is very hard to live. Anyways, just try and keep it in perspective its good to not have to struggle I wish I did not have to struggle as much but its okay life has many pains and in many ways embracing the pain can be life changing as well. Money will leave you empty in the end. I have found love, purpose, and peace in my religion, music, career, and family.

Videos are looking great man even on my thinkpad t460!!! ROFL.
Happiness is relative to each individual. 10k a month would solve a lot of problems for me. I also know if I made a lot of oney a lot of people would try to take advantage of me. A few of them I'd let them get away with it...
Thanks for making these videos man, Really helps motivate me to keep learning. coming up on 2 months since I started learning with Zero to Mastery. Almost halfway done with the react course.

After a certain point, especially when we can provide for our current and future selves (retirement savings), it's important to seek fulfillment and joy in other aspects of our lives. The alienation aspect can make this tough, though 💔

I’ve been in information technology since 1996. Don’t chase after money it’s a empty dream. Work for stability and set goals for what your gonna to do. Bless others give to a cause ext. only seeking money will lead to a deep emptiness and depression. Try to keep your money out of the knowledge to most people. You need and want legitimate friends / relationships

I think you need to get involved projects that help others. Using that money on charities is not enough but rather something that can involve you helping others in a community can help knowing that you’ve helped someone. You can find charities that develop schools for example in third world countries and personally invite you

Oh my god, I should watch this, but I'm not. The title alone says everything, and its so true. It never freaking ends dude. And once you reach a certain point it doesn't even matter anymore, but you still are looking for the next high score. Hamster wheel, sometimes its best to just sit back and enjoy what you grinded for.

Bro, with that ammount of money you could get out of the rat race in like 7/8 years.
You could go live how you want and do what you like! (thats what im aiming at)
Create business, travel the world or do something you allways wanted, you decide! That way you can really chose what you really wanna do, because you need to, but because you want to!
Im into Software development because i love this! I love puzzles and challenges but the main goal is to invest the right ammount so i dont have to work anymore and then create businesses and live where i want and how i want!
If you make 300k and waste 300k you will allways become stuck on this rat race.
Wish you the best man and hope everything gets better and you get a more long lasting and fulfilling goal.
(btw i have to thank you alot for encouraging me and have the right mentality to get into tech)

What I've learned is that having money and buying things are meaningless unless you actually do good stuff with them. I don't care about more money if I don't have time to do things I enjoy and surprise, as a SE I don't want to code more than the 40 hours a week I have to.

If you want to be as content as possible you need to put all of energy into mastering your own mind. You can own the entire world, but you'll still be less content than a roaming penniless monk who has mastered his mind and always lives in the present moment.

Find out who Jesus is, it matters. I’ll keep you in my prayer for a while sir. I followed you for the tech advice, now I will add you to my thoughts in prayer sir. Have a good one, stay strong brotha.

Exactly, the rat race never ends. Even as an entrepreneur. I tried a small business freelancing and realized to me, it just didn’t feel all that different from a job. You usually just end up providing value to others. Could be that I chose the wrong business too though, but still the grind just doesn’t stop. Look at how hard Elon Musk works for example

What I have found with other tech/entrepreneurs that I know is that your income has surpassed your dreams/vision.
You made a great point that you realized how much money you are brining in, but you are looking around at what you have or can have and it's... meaningless. It just served to give you a spike of depression. You/others like you need a bigger vision as to what you can do with your life/ do for others.
You only think that making $40k a month is a lot of money, until you try and set up a endowment fund to send under privileged kids to vocational schools at scale. How much do you need to make to boot strap an orphanage from the ground up? How much does it cost to maintain an organization that provides tech visa's to people from Niger so that hey can then come make tech money and repatriate money to help out their families/communities?
Once you stop thinking about what you can do for yourself, and what that income can do for others it really opens up your eyes to what is available for you to give to the world.

You thought that the money 'drug' would bring you happiness but you were wrong, so now that you've confirmed it, all that's left is the emptiness which was always there that your drug could never fill.
Money is nothing more than a tool, and self-fulfillment cannot be bought.

Yep. Money does not buy happiness. It buys margin, allowing you to explore what does interest you and bring fulfillment. Spoiler alert, happiness is found in pursuit of a purpose, and the chief end (purpose) of man is to glorify God.

    Hey Chris,
I'm really sorry to hear about the negative ways that $ has impacted you, especially the part about how people look at you differently. That sounds really scary and so I'm heeding your warning. I am just getting into tech, its been about 2 years of college plus self study and I'm looking to get a job now. One of the hardest parts of my life was 2016-2019ish, and I struggled a lot with feeling happy. I basically had to assess my life and address the main issues that were making me unhappy. I think that one of the main things that helped me was meditation, and I recommend it to everyone. It helped me focus on my personal development and fulfillment, what truly makes me happy, and just generally being content. I feel like I know deep down that money by itself wouldn't make me happy, but what would for me would be to use it to fight climate change, make music and content, and travel to places I've never been. It sounds like you know that helping others makes you happy, which is great. I actually think that money is only one type of wealth. There is wealth in health, food security, time with family, culture, language, access to resources. So my approach is to use money to build other types of wealth so that I can be happier.

Chris if your really looking for peace, Allah says "Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest." Chris i hope you see this ive been following your journey for a year now and i truly feel sad seeing you battle depression and anxiety. Im a muslim, a person who submits his will to the creator of this magnificent World. and my heart finds peace because i know Allah is there. all i have to do is acknowledge he is my creator and that the prophet mohammed is his last messenger and thank him by praying to him. think about it chris there are people less fortunate will never get to have the kind of money you have or will never be in the best accommodation, will never drive a lambo, bugatti, they will never taste the pleasures of this world. and they will die 1. they never lived the life 2. they died and will never will ever exist? what a sad reality. but what if i told you that you get to live the best life here and when you die you live the best life for eternity in the next life. think about it, were we just placed on this earth to live and fight to make money, and die? theres a bigger purpose! i hope you get the best of both!
