Even IWD says in this very stream that Gragas is a soft-counter and can only 'neutralize' Jax at best so long as Jax doesn't overstep close to turret. T1 chose Gragas over a better counterpick because it helped facilitate and peel for his botlane, instead of increasing the initiation threat with something like Kennen or Aatrox because Xayah was picked and engage is difficult to play into her. Had Bin itemized for Spear of Shojin over Hullbreaker, he would have been more useful in teamfights and could stick to Zeus more easily in chasedowns, but instead he elected to ragesplit since teamfights were going poorly.
In terms of whose outplays were more impressive, Bin successfully mindgamed Zeus in game 2 and Zeus misread him, and then was killed a second time after Bin finished Mercs and did not want to blow Flash so top wouldn't snowball too hard after another solokill. In Game 1, Zeus immediately capitalized on the timings of Bin's cooldowns and all-in'd him, which culminated from perfect spacing and knowing the exact limits of the range of his Gnar ultimate, with Bin getting no opportunities to get Zeus low enough to cheese him or even to draw Xun topside for a kill. Zeus played both games better overall and knew his role, whereas Bin was useless in Game 1 and indecisive in Game 2.
