    This is the best idea and the best set up out of all the videos I watched .

    I’d probably use shock chord on the suction cup ends. Reduce some of the force and give a peace of mind

    thanks for adding to my massive 10k in gear I got for my family trip. I just got 4 figure 9s, 4 suction cups, tarp and tarp poles. I already had some tarps for my 9 person tent footprint and for above the tent but having a covering behind my vehicle will be handy since that is where I am storing food, solar setup and electric cooler.

    At 9:16 you need to press in the suction cup on the middle stub thingie and with a different finger or hand flip the switch, but keep pressing in the suction cup on that little stub when you do that. Than you have a good seal and it won't come off.

    Absolute cracking good unique idea mate you really think outside the box with some excellent tarp setups well done you have hit this one out of the ball park.👍👍👍 I use your tarp setups on my vehicle, and they do the job just as well as an expensive fold out wing awning. Keep up the cracking good work, Wade from Australia.

    Mounting the suction cups on the side windows will be stronger than on the vehicles metal body.

    This is awesome. Where did you buy the gear? Best setup for tie down I’ve seen.

    Would love a link to the suction cups you bought.I’ve found several but none seem to have the lever to tighten the suction once in place.
    Always found suction cups work best with some water between the rubber disk and surface(years of using them for heavy electronic devices in a transport truck windshield).
    Thanks for the content!

    Not many trees in southern AZ...do have a video using poles instead of trees?
    Have suction cups been tested thru heavy wind and rain?
    Thanks!

    Do you have any concerns about the suction cup straps scratching the window? Wind creating a flap-away situation?

    • @adventurelife1972
      @adventurelife1972  Рік тому

      Not really, all the components are plastic, I thought the same at first but I’m not concerned, good question!

      @@cindylees391 thanks for the question, the hatch props it up a little but it does stay in place when you close it no problem. I did that when I slept in the jeep.

      Hello. A couple of questions. 1-were you attaching to a smooth surface, 2-was the surface wet, 3-did you press the cup against the surface before flipping the tab. I understand that there can only be so much force put on them. I used them in my most recent camping video and they held up all night. Hope this helps.

    String goes on a yoyo, or around your finger as a reminder, you are using cordage.
