Well this time I must disagree re the black knit dress. I found it very sophisticated, chic look on you. ( no belt please and a black bootie with black tights. The length is perfect. Accessories: some long gold earrings and gold bangle bracelets, a large oversized scarf in a soft plaid or paisley. Just my thoughts and style. For me its a “keeper”. Ditch the plaid ruffles😢. All other styles and outfits are great. No hard criticism here🎉
I agree. The length doesn't look frumpy and the shape actually hangs really well with no belt.
I love your utube channel serena, I would love to be middle age again but I'am past that now. when I got 50 I thought I was so old and now iam 66 and let me tell ya the yrs go so fast. in no time I will be 70. you gals in your 50s please enjoy it. I do have low boots i wear with my wide legg jeans. and it is a cute wear. I bought the boots at walmart and the wide leg jeans at amazon. i do shop amazon a lot. love your outfits serena.
I watched your how to wear leggings and just realized they are coming back next year. But elevated with blazers and sweaters. All of your examples are going to work well.

Thanks Serena. I did like the black dress on you. Just a couple suggestions. Maybe it will help or maybe not. I'd skip the brown boots and belt. If you'd put on some black tights and maybe black boots. It wouldn't be cutting you off where your flesh is showing above the brown boots. The black boots would also give you an all black monochrome look with just one long lean silhouette. What great items you found though. I have a super Walmart just two blocks from our home. Wich is very handy. I'll check some of these pieces out. Ty again, for another inspiring video
Too much black is overwhelming, black tights okay with a black dress but, then you need a different color of high heels or boots instead of black!

Thanks for the try on. Seeing the items on a person really helps. Sometimes you see it on the hanger and it looks unattractive so I tend to pass it up but it might look better actually on the body. The outfit with the denim jacket, white top and red/burgundy slacks is really cute. The No Boundaries dress is a really nice winter dress.

The black dress looks great on you. I think it looks better without the belt. But I also don’t love the way I feel in turtle necks. It reminds me of that old Billy Crystal, Saturday Night Live scene. “It is better to look good than to feel good. You know what I’m saying, and you know who you are.” 😂 Seriously though, that dress looked lovely.
Wow Serena, you showed us so many great outfits! Those corduroy pants worked in so many ways and the lavender dress was gorgeous on you!! For people on the shorter side of the spectrum I greatly prefer the boots over loafers on dress one.

I like the black turtleneck sweater dress on you. And I did like it with the brown boots. It just made an adorable outfit. I believe I would like to see you show it with black boots also. I ordered the jeans in both black and blue and I'm excited to try them. I've had so many disappointments with jeans and pants being too high and uncomfortable. Pants and jeans from petite websites too. From now on I will not buy a pair of pants without knowing the rise.
Yes! That is so important, especially for petites or short-waisted people. 10" is high rise on me and 9 is my sweet spot. I've seen some "petite" jeans with 11" rise & higher! There's NO way!

I love the black watch plaid dress - however at my age this is the type of dress that I’d pair with leggings (and yes I watched your video)
I liked the black dress - I think if you dress it up and ditch the boots it’s very sophisticated. If you can sew you can reduce the fabric in the neck. I didn’t buy them from Walmart because I have 2 from VS that are over 20 years old. They are classy

I agree with you about the black sweater dress. It doesn’t look right it’s too short it needs to be longer. I found one on Amazon and it’s midi length and it’s navy blue. It’s perfect. I think you should return that.

Hi Serena, I have the worst time matching shoes to outfits. I’m learning lots from your channel and have made several clothing purchases, just no shoes yet. With shoes like loafers and pumps do you typically go barefoot or do you wear some type of sock? My office is so cold I rarely wear shoes without socks. Even in the summer I keep a little heater on under my desk.
I either go barefoot or wear the little no-show footies.

It's a tiered dress. Belt wouldn't look right.
I wear clothes that make me look and feel amazing, regardless of the time of year. I don't follow style "rules" and trends. I only shop local and support women owned businesses. I don't shop at retail clothing store chains.
