There are purpose built remote control mowers meant for steep slopes such as the Slope Pro that Progressive makes. They don't take a mower meant for flat grounds and 3in of grass and say it works up to 50 deg and taking down brush.
You might already know this, but all that is is a Gravely commercial mower with remote controls and the track system. Most wear and tear items other than the tracks and remote control can be purchased through a Gravely mower dealer.
That tension release mechanism you fabricated is awesome. I need to do that to my Altoz Hell of a review. Made me rethink purchasing one. I'm very curious which electric unit you switched to
@@tslamowerequine interesting, I just emailed them for a quote. I was very curious to see what it could handle both in terms of the degree of slope and the type of material it could cut
Just came from looking at a video of a vastly superior RC mower. Fuel injected 28 hp motor, 2 gal removable outboard type fuel tank. Motor pulls a generator, the drives and duel blades are driven by good sized individual electric motors. No belts anywhere.
Well, I'm glad they listened to me! I don't see it on their website yet, but I'll take your word for it. They spent far too much time supposedly making it autonomous before they had a basic sound mower. I still don't get having an infernal combustion engine running a generator to drive electric motors, though. ICE will always have problems on steep slopes, they are loud, require maintenance, and cost a fortune to operate. Check out our Raymo all electric. It has more power than any commercial mower I've ever operated. It will mow far steeper slopes and doesn't tear up the ground. I can mow for less than $1 in electricity what the RC took over 10 gallons of gas to mow. ICE is dead, be done with it!
I believe that all the things you have said are true. I admire all the modifications you have made to this model. I suspect that you purchased this older model used before you made the modifications described.
Nope, paid over $50k new. I had it almost 2 years, and I begged them to improve many things. They finally came out with a new deck a few months ago. After posting this video, they bought the machine back. I see some indications they are offering new machines with some possible improvements, but I am skeptical. Good balance but poorly designed. Be prepared for constant maintenance.
@archstanton_live All I can say is that RC Mowers chose working on automation rather than building a good, reliable mower. I hope it works out for them.
No, and RC never offered me one. Regardless, I would find it hard to believe they have solved all the problems with their machines. The Raymo has much better balance and maneuverability, and being rubber tired, it doesn't tear up the ground. It is far more powerful, and being electric, it is nearly free to operate and requires no maintenance.
Thank you for taking the time to Answer my questions, appreciate all the input. I have a demo with Raymo and RC this week. The more I watch your reviews I feel like I shouldn’t even waste time looking at the Rc R 60. 35k vs almost 70k.
Jack heir apparent for sure. Experience, commentary, and wisdom all in one video.

That's quite an honor. I'm not sure I can fill one of his shoes! RIP Jack.
The tear down titan of RC Mowers:-)

Crap is still crap. I never bought any parts. They sent under warranty, or I upgraded myself.
Great information to have. Thanks for sharing and taking time to make this video.

👍👍👊
Stick the Luna in the pony cart and have it control the slope mower.
Sit tight, Raymo Review coming soon.

Electric Raymo Slope Mower. Review is in the works.

Our RC had an electronic fuel injection motor.
So why don't you RC control the Mean Green, or better yet build your own RC mower. You obviously have enough understanding of what is required.
Thank you.

@@andyfeimsternfei8408 That is good to know my friend. I respect your ingenuity in modifications.

Did you consider or test the new line of RC mower, either the R60 or R50 before you purchased your Raymo electric mower?

@AllTerrainmowing-qg2br If I were going tracks again, I would get a machine with a flail mower. Something like a Greenclimber.
Hi, do you know by any chance what linear actuators are in for the hydro control?
No. Sorry. And we no longer have this machine. Moved up to an electric slope mower. Will review if in the spring.
