Nearly all brands of toothpaste contains micro scrub, mostly of plastic or (hopefully) more commonly different types of salt crystals. Nevertheless they will scratch all sorts of lacquer, paint and even GLASS, such as cell phones, mirrors etc. DON'T USE ON GLASS OR LACQUER/PAINT! These scratches are not visible to the eye, but will be able to gather grease and other sorts of dirt. Will make you use more toothpaste, more scratches.... I'm only warning you, take it or leave it. (Try it on a lacquer surface where a couple of small scratches doesn't matter, rub with a cotton pad or something for 30 sec, look with a good magnifier (don't scrub that with toothpaste first!). There will be a spot with less shine, maybe even visible marks. I'm only warning you, take it or leave it.
