The production version of the Ram REV debuted, with specs, at the New York Auto Show. We were there to scope it out ua-cam.com/video/PxzM-zHU3qw/v-deo.html
The concept looks awesome, I hope it rolls out smoothly in the real world...As for the comment on wheel size, I have 20's on my 1500 and I think anything bigger is ridiculous for street and highway driving.
Ram has a huge opportunity for a grand slam here, specifically because of the range extender option that they are rumored to offer as one of the model variations. For the model with the range extender, essentially a PHEV, they can put enough batteries in to cover most people’s daily driving, say 125 miles of range. Then include a big gas tank and it could have 400 + miles of range while towing. This will appeal to many of the truck people who, up to this point, are not willing to buy a BEV truck because they tow and or drive to places that are nowhere near chargers on a regular basis. Or just have silly range anxiety. In doing this, Stelantis would have a much lower cost of goods to produce the vehicle, and could sell it at a noticeably lower price than its pure battery competitors, and probably even make higher margin.
Not sure why you'd say the suicide doors are unlikely to hit production, there has already been many mainstream cars with doors like that, most of the features seem reasonably simple, maybe less intricate roof glass, bed floor and simpler seats in the base models.
Without the B Pillar in place it becomes expensive (and heavy) to reinforce the cab for crash protection. It can be done (Rolls Royce) but it’s very rare.
@@EVPulse that was my initial thought too (wasn't sure it was a requirement), maybe they can reduce the opening size or seriously reinforce the A & C pillars, in which case I can see how that might be expensive to do.
I know a guy that purchased the same truck by the time he left the dealership plus all the extras that had to do with the battery hookup it was "$170,000" dollars he just retired and him and his wife decided to go across country the dealership guaranteed him over 500 miles before he needed to plug in..He got 300 miles the truck died in the middle of nowhere completely dead..He had it towed back to the dealership I guess he made some kind of deal I want the same truck but in gasoline he said he was beside himself about how they lied to him..Not sure what kind of deal he made with the dealership but I'm sure he got screwed over..Sad to work all your life you want to enjoy traveling with your loved one and get stuck in the middle of nowhere..😡
good luck on promoting and subscriber numbers. Greetings from Samarkand, Uzb. We love electric here as well, but the pick ups are the story of Americas...
I have a hunch that the starting price will be around $150,000, which means my lawn guy will have to mow a lot more lawns if he wants to buy this truck.
What’s the battery range!? With my oversizedfuel tank I can tow 12,000 lbs over 500 miles, in decent conditions, on one tank with my Cummins. Looks nice tho
exactly that's just it this EV Truck can't haul that kind of weight the batteries would go fully charged to zero pretty quick I suspect this type will be for show only I doubt if many real trucking enthusiasts will gravitate to an EV
Does it come with a diesel generator in the back so you can actually tow something more than 300 miles before having to spend the night somewhere to charge?
Where are the displays for the rear camera system (no exterior rear mirrors shown - just cams) ? Haven't seen them in the A-Pillar area like the Honda E or within the Doors like the Audi etron.
I'm going to say something that these folks and auto companies don't want to say. These are all FIRST GENERATION EV'S from auto companies that have never dealt with the infrastructure, management and reliability of an electric vehicle. It's not easy to go from gas production to electric without having some serious challenges or taking shortcuts to capture a market. Also range anxiety will be real for them without a supercharger network and that's a hard fact! Don't get me started on what happens in the winter, those ranges are going to drop on top of the 1st year battery degradation which you lose range forever, between 5-7% but these are first generation, so who knows!Lease and buy at your own risk!! If you are in the market for an electric vehicle then a Tesla is just a much better option. You get a solid electric vehicle with an amazing audio system, built like a damn tank but ridiculously fast lol, add all the cool features those vehicles have, like driving itself, games, video streamings and all the updates it gets, that keeps itself fresh through out the years. Add the supercharger network that can get you anywhere you want, without having range anxiety, it has proven to be very reliable vehicle and ecosystem. Also in case you don't know but Tesla is the #1 Model S, #2 Model Y ,#3 Model 3 are the most safest vehicles in the entire world and getting better with each update according to 3rd party testers! Choose wisely because there are better options, personally I don't want to be a guinea pig but I'm happy we are transitioning to a more sustainable environment!! Peace!
Tesla paved the way, but our own Model 3 isn’t the best built car we’ve driven. Especially loved the defective control arms. Tesla has some advantages and it makes sense why people buy them, but there’s also not yet a truck offering.
So many of these work trucks double as offices. They should have the steering wheel fold up along with an armrest type folding tray like on bulkhead seats on planes.
No one wants an Electric Pickup. Absolutely ridiculous product. No range, no power, no heat, no towing or plowing capability in the cold and needs $45000 battery replacement in 50K miles. I'll keep my 5.7L RAM HEMI thank you.
You need to do more research. Gas savings alone. We were spending 400-600 per week on gas before. And yes they tow a ton. My contractor friend ‘s Rivian can tow 10,000 pounds like it’s nothing, and his range is still 180 miles. They’ll keep getting better and better. Real world 300-400 mile range, the quick charge feature gets you 80% power in the time it takes you to pee, check emails and have a quick bite on the road. The power your house as a back up generator, which is why I got one. It means I literally never pull power from the grid with solar panels. It’s like 10 Tesla walls. Plus the workingman features make towing compressors and generators unnecessary. All those features are there. Big benefit. Room for tools. Electric cars are just better. Also please note: if you keep your battery charged at 15% to 80% at all times, (don’t go down to zero and don’t keep it topped off) you can actually extend battery life by 10x. All electric car owners should know about his. Do the research. Yes these electric cars will get better, nobody will be driving a gas car in ten years except specific types of vehicles. It’s time to change. You won’t go back.
When I replace my truck, I want a truck! Not a spaceship; not an over sized car; not a computer on wheels that’ll end up costing thousands and thousands to get repairs done on…but a workhorse! If I wanted this, I’d buy a sowing machine and put tires on it. F@cking hate where this all is going.
How much weight can it tow, pull? How rough of terrain can traverse? Unfortunately he can’t answer those questions, which are most important when purchasing a pickup truck!
It's a concept. Want to know all those answers? Come back when the production version of the truck is released and numbers are provided and independently verified.
50k truck to travel 300-400 miles and then stop for 2hrs to recharge and continue traveling?. Here in Miami I seen Teslas going at high speed and dominating city streets and freeways, and i have seen them crossing the everglades from Miami to Naples and they go no more than 65mph because they know there are no charging stations outside the city and they are fk'd if they go faster with all passengers and cargo.
EV's are the new shiny toy everyone wants for Christmas. That'll change as more people buy them and find out all the drawbacks. Ford's F150 EV can't pull anything and they tell you that. I think it goes like 70 miles if you try pulling something. Its a joke.

I don't want or care about having to plug in a vehicle and wait to charge. Imagine being on the road going to work and you forgot to charge and it dies on you. You can't even listen to the radio while you're waiting for a tow truck, by the way, is probably going to be powered by diesel. What irony. 😆 🤣 😂 😹

Great looking truck. Hoping that it comes with great price too.
Oh don't worry the price will be pretty great alright. And don't forget in 7 years you'll get to spend another $26K on a replacement battery pack.
When electricity is an expensive scarce commodity, it cannot be so well thought out to build such a car.

So make an EV, then add a ton of lights to use up that electricity.
I'll only buy one if they can stuff a Hemi V-8 into the "frunk".
