What a great pianist John Ogdon was...I saw him only once, and that on his ill-fated final tour, playing the Rach 2. He did so much to play and promote contemporary music mid-20th century, espescially Sorabji. I forgot I had this box, and have rescued it from my 'vinyl overspill' and am currently playing the Colin Horsley's John Ireland recording...it's good, but my favourite is Eric Parkin's on Lyrita SRCS 36....not to mention Parkin's three volumes of Ireland's solo piano music, also Lyrita in vivid sound.
This is a good set - I came across it years ago in Ben's Records in Guildford. I agree that Ogdon was a fantastic pianist. For some reason I don't yet have any of the Parkin/Ireland records on Lyrita. I should rectify that!

I had that excellent box once and again I thank you for the nostagia. Also, the Tippett concerto is a masterpiece.
