👍👍👍 .. nice 😊. A case where simplifying is an improvement 😏. Excess Carbon Felt .. a pad used as a heat shield to protect sensitive surfaces from the burner / stove always comes in handy. Another piece used to handle hot cookware and such .. also not a bad idea. Should one have excess Carbon Felt to throw around, I wonder how a Pot Cozy made from Carbon Felt would work? Combining that with 'Reflectix' should make for a pretty good Insulator 🤔. A good share .. thanks. I'm sure that others will benefit from this post. Take care ..
@@DollyTheLlama👍 Yes. I use such a pad under my Trangia 28 Mini and other stoves. Since filling my Trangia Burner with Ceramic Wool, topped with a tight roll of Carbon Felt, lighting up in sub-freezing temperatures is no longer a problem. Having to wait for the 'bloom' is not an issue as I can now put a pot immediately after lighting onto the pot stand without snuffing the flame .. thus taking immediate advantage of the flame heat.
Another good video thanks for sharing. No reply necessary. My comments on further use for the Carbon fibre/felt blanket have already been covered by other commentators; apart from... Wrapping the sides of your Trangia & type, Toaks & type, Cat can, and these Puck type burners, plus base disc. All to conserve heat. Thanks again, take care.
I have a pre heater on my trangia style stove. Slips onto the bottom, for storage, you push it all the way up, looking like a fake bottom. You use it by pulling down the feet on the sides, clicking into the ring indent on the stove. Basically, it positions a small pad, under, in the middle of the stove. Putting a little fuel on it, light it, heats the bottom and fuel. Carbon felt all over it, would kinda interfere with that.
I wonder if spiral carbon felt would work in a standard trangia type stove? That enough fuel would be available to bloom the holes into function, keeping them going?

That carbon felt heat shield would be a good idea too for Trangia style burners that have a hard time blooming when they're on cold ground.

I would think so, I"ll have to give it a try.
How did you make the lid for the 4” cup out of a soup can 🥫?
I'll make a video on it, maybe today. I'll comment when its out.
I just posted a video on my pot lid.
