moonlighting, went there too, and it was ok. i just remember this from then. Oasis was always fun , and even though moonlighting had ppl looking nice, the vibe was always a bit vanilla, i was there opening night, didnt really improve much at all.
those "some ppl" would be me. and i think you getting your time frame mixed up my dear, truly weave never really took off in those early days, people were still just doing pieces and wigs. if you were sporting a weave in 89/90 there was only one place that did it, Lapaz, notting hill, ( dont ask me how i know.....200 pounds l8r *cough*) i used to go to that other one just above Wong Kei too, dont know if its still there, but those days you had a good choice that didnt bruk your pocket.
Classic! I always hear this tune on da radio just as it dun and the dj wouldn't say the track name or the artist. Went BBQ last week and heard it the rest is history.
Funny to read all the comments mentioning the old club names. What an era, almost like it never existed except for when tunes like this drop and memories flow back. Boy did we have fun packed weekends in those days. All lost on today's generation due to a distinct lack of the same thanks to draconian local councils that killed of the word FUN in my book.

Moonlighting was an older crowd. I agree vibes was not there. People dressed up nice and fancy but not much dancing going on.

That's right . No one was really wearing wigs. It was jerry/curly perm, relaxer, hair up in pony tail or single plaits.
