You can set it up as an automation, but it’s going to ask you if you want to run the automation each time & you have to approve it. So not necessarily “automatically”. There are ways around it using “dummy switches”, but it’s a slightly more advanced process.

Swipe to lock looks super cool. Did Aqara give you any idea when they would have a satin finish? Do these guys have a geofence auto-unlock feature? Mine only works 15% of the time on August but when it does it’s like magic. It’s nice not having to unlock when your arms are filled with groceries.

I just got this lock and replaced my August lock cuz the August lock would always disconnect from my wifi and then I noticed at night the August lock would lose connection to their servers and so my autolock automation on smartthings couldn't work which always got me mad.there's a few things that I don't like about the Aqara lock, one is you can't create an home arrival automation and thats where the lock unlocks when you get home, so I asked aqara support why the arrival automation is greyed out and won't apply when tapped and they told me that they don't allow it because it's for our safety but we can create an leaving automation autolock. The other thing I don't like is the gyroscope that thing doesn't work for crap so I just turned that off and just used the aqara P2 door sensor instead, more reliable.
I WISH More of the HomeKey Smart Locks ALSO Had “Integration with Ring Alarm To Disable the Ring Alarm System, that’s my BIGGEST COMPLAINT Against the HomeKey Compatible Systems, Tell me what you think of that Idea Pls George

I’m looking at this lock closely it addition to the U100. U100 on main door, U50 on garage, back and studio doors. Curious would aqara app automate the function of a second lock in sync? Would like the studio lock to operate in unison with the back door lock during office hours.
It is uneven, but that doesn’t bother me. As much as I’m normally a freak about such things, I don’t usually stand there staring at my lock when I open my door. lol
I think this gadged has a zero security grade. Knock off the keypad and use a screwdriver to move the bolt. (if that is even necessary). In my opinion, it is better to use this on an internal door as an obstacle and not for security.
There is not a smart lock on the market that is 100% thief-proof. But this one is no worse than any other. If you’re that worried about your door security, a smart lock is not for you in the first place.
Don’t buy. I bought mine in November and it went out on me. I contacted their email support, provided a video of the issue, and proof of purchase. They took a week response between emails, sent me a new doorbell by mistake, and ignored me after I informed them. It’s been 5 months and still no response or replacement. I went with the big dog Schlage. I love all of their other products though.

Thanks for pointing out the difficulty of seeing the lock. If I get this one, I might put a stripe on the locking knob to tell if it’s locked or not.

I’m not a big fan of Ring, so that’s really not a feature that interests me personally.
The U100 can do home key, but you have to have a hub, right? Whereas this one you don’t have to have a hub?
You can add them both to Apple Home without the Aqara Hub.

Adding to the finish, it appears the indoor unit and outdoor unit sit at different planes. That too would absolutely bug me visually.

Not sure how you bought this lock in November. It was released two weeks ago.
