I adopted a Senior cat from the RSPCA World for Pets, located in Underwood, Queensland - Ruby is now 11 years and had a pudgy non-existent waistline, however with some gentle exercise in my backyard she has become my Feline gardening assistant as she loves to dig in the raised garden beds, fertilising naturally. 💩😺
What a nice story. Kudos for her taking a senior cat into her life. 14 isn't old. And her deep raspy voice is/was adorable. It must have been a big (sad) adjustment for the cat to lose the people he knew for 14 years.

Absolute respect to this woman and her family for taking this cat in, even though their new furry friend was initially hard to deal with and grumpy. Also serious respect for creating an organization on behalf of re-homing senior cats. Thank you kindly!
So sorry for your loss. But what in inspiration Mackenzie was. Because of her, the lives of over 150 kitties were potentially saved. Thank you for what you have done, both for Mackenzie and for all the other kitties.
I remember it, too. It was amazing then, and even more so now. That charity, "My Grandfather's Cat" - what a thing to do for about-to-be-homeless cats! Those cats do not do well in shelters, and are rarely adopted.
@@mpettway6982 that's the point - most ARE. I volunteered in shelters wherever my spouse was transferred, senior animals, _especially CATS ,_ never did well. It's so traumatizing for them to lose their owner and then lose the only homes they've known. God God bless this beautiful girl for giving McKenzie a wonderful life, and for helping place other seniors pets into loving homes. She is doing God's work!

What a wonderful story to share. That meow was hilarious. She really honored her Grandfather because that kitty looked like a handful 😆. It’s was fun watching him warm up to her and her family ❤️
My mom got really sick and it became apparent she wasn't going to be home for a while. We didn't want to put her cat in a shelter, so Muffin moved in with me. She had to take a plane ride from Minnesota to Florida and then move in with me who she barely knew and my cat Otis. She was about 14 when I got her and she took the move and everything very well! She and Otis do more than tolerate each other and I figured that was a victory. She's been with me for 2 years and I recently had to move to a new apartment. She took it in stride while Otis is still adjusting! Muffin is a little old bossy lady but I love her. I loved this cat story the first video I saw and while I'm sorry she crossed the rainbow bridge, I'm glad she had you! The charity is a wonderful idea!
Trauma is a bear to recover from. Mackenzie is a delight. She’s also stunning. She hissed at the waves! Love her. Thank you for taking Mackenzie & adoring her. Sweet and spicy.
Humanity makes me so happy. I’m sad that Grandpa passed away and that cat lost his best friend. But this beautiful lady stepped up and gave that cat a chance to see life from her perspective. Life can be beautiful if led in the right direction. Thank you.
She's a very pretty cat and that voice is such an amusing surprise. I think she just had a different dictionary for cat sounds. A hiss could be a friendly sound. Even her ordinary meows were not ordinary. She was an original and I'm guessing her human mom must be very glad she got to be there for her when she needed it most.
I have horrible allergies to cat's and we usually stayed clear of rescuing them. We've always volunteered at dog rescues since I didn't have allergies to most dogs. One of the rescue groups needed my husband and I to rescue a cat from a shelter since it was going to be killed the next morning. We went to get Prissy. She was also an older cat and she lost her owners. I was having major sneezing fits, eyes were runny and my face was beet red before getting home with her. I was able to find a way to be around her. My doctor told me that it's cheaper and best for me to not be around cats. I told him that it's not the cat's fault that I have allergies. We ended up keeping Prissy. My husband and daughter's loved her. We have rescued around 5 cats if there wasn't any other options. But there's no way I would turn away a cat if they need to be saved. It's awesome that this woman was able to take in her grandparents cat. And that she has rescued other cats.
So sweet. I do not know why calicos are so feisty?1 I had one - Cha Cha for many years - she was very interesting... Sweet and sour but lovely. Thank goodness you took Mackenzie a wonderful tribute to your grandparents. 🙏

💜So great! I just got a beautiful lost or wild kitty to trust me. She would hide in the woods behind our house, but sleep in our empty large dog crate where I placed a warm blanket. Fed her for a week & finally she jumps up & cuddles with me - it's such an amazing feeling! We love her! (I'm trying to decide a name. She's solid grey w/green eyes.) Oh! And she also hisses for seemingly no reason!? 😂🐈⬛
I volunteered to foster a cat for a rescue that helps seniors. The elderly woman was going into hospice and needed a home for her 16 year old cat. It turned out that the cat was actually 19 and was facing end of life issues herself. So I was her hospice for a couple months before the end. The rescue organization says its fairly easy to find homes for older dogs turned over by seniors, but not older cats. They get calls every week or two from people wanting a home for a cat and they have to turn people down every time because they don't have fosters or adopters.
God bless you girl..both U & your superawesome pet...just as supersamazing as you. Keep shining U guys will meet again in heaven just like my 16 pet cats.
