This is why I've grown to hate actually physically going to the Opera nowadays; because this is the sort of ridiculous staging you're all too often surprised with. Just put up the story as it's written, for heaven's sake.. That said, the singing is wonderful.

What is the point of that dancer there? Useless and of bad taste
