I'm going with 28.8. That sweet old truck has a two speed rear axle, you pull the switch and then you have double the gears so you can get up to say 60 with it but still have enough torque to climb up out of the quarry
Pretty dependent on the pump attendant. So much so, I wouldn't put much stock in the number you get after one fill-up. What I mean is: you can vary the amount of fuel added substantially depending on how willing you are to carefully bump the trigger after the pump kicks off for the first time. Think up to 5% variance on a 20-25 gallon tank (less on larger). That's assuming you filled it to the rim initially any other way it is hard to match fill level when you refill. Also your odometer will likely give you a little optimism in the final number too, maybe a few percent.
I add Tcw-2 stroke outboard oil 1 Oz per gallon of Diesel to my diesel Fuel and gained about 1-1/2 more miles to the gallon yes one and half more per gallon. Also gained about a half mile more when I put on a B.H.A.F. This was with a 1989 Dodge Ramcharger with a 1992 Cummins 5.9 intercooled with 35"tires was getting about 19-21 mpg with a Denny Fuel pin,M&H dynamic timing spacer and the 3200 governor spring easy on the go fast pedal
I'm interested to know what your drivetrain is (front/rear diff, trans, trans controller?)- and in particular how heavy your unit is (have you weighed it?). I'm just about to start my 84 Suburban 4BT conversion :)
You can change the motor in anything but know that the mounts are only made for the Factory Engine so Machining/Welding or Buying brackets is required for it to fit , Let alone Finding/Making the right Transmission/DriveShaft and Transmission Mount/BellHousing It would be easier to buy a 7.3 Expedition/Excursion
Older engine would've been gasoline, I'm guessing the 5.4L piece of junk Triton V8. I'm guessing he kept the stock transmission as well. Correct me if I'm wrong.
S. Stewart well my friend, here at Brazil the really is too much different we used in trucks MWM and Cummins, but manual transmission (this is bad) I’ve a project and I’d like put 4bt in one Ford Explorer with automatic transmission. Logically if possible. Hugs
From cheating, and having an Expedition, 26 Gallon Tank. quarter of 26 is 6.5. So 19.5 Gallons used over 412.1 Miles is about 21.15 MPG. But you're a bit over it so I'd estimate a little under 25-ish MPG. Not bad at all considering my 4.6 towing averages 9 MPG. Around town it's horrible, about 13-14MPG. On the highway though it stretches to 16-18MPG. Nowhere near what you're getting. But those gauges are weird. I made it 180 miles before the needle moved off full, but once it got down around half it dropped like a rock pretty quickly. I think there's some sort of bias in the fuel level sensor.
300th like, 90th like. :) also, should I go with a 4bt 4.9L (300cui) in my 67 f100 or a ford i6 4.9l (also 300cui)? I can definitely adapt the eaton rto-610 to the np205 and the i6 ford but just curious what your opinion is. Also, awesome vid man! :)
then you'd all be wrong, yes, the numbers are there but pretty much EVERY speedo reads 7% high, so for every 1000 miles you read you,ve actually done 930, so you've used 7 % more fuel than you read, check it out with a TOMTOM Gps
This is a great conversion. But maybe it would be better if you can put turbo on the cummins engine is that possible? Just so that you go faster on uphill
27.2 mpg, thanks for the video!

What transmission did you link it up to

That's one of the many reasons you let it stop when it stops and NEVER bump it.
My OBS 7.3 got at best 25mpg stock with tune only, I believe with the right tuning you’d be capable of much better.

The res knob is for a 2 speed rear end
Beautiful country up there. Commuted between Beverton and Portland back in '90-'91. Miss the views not the mist and rain. My guess 21.2
What did it end up being on the MPG???????
Excelente video pero que caja de velocidades utiliza esa camioneta? Quiero hacer un swap a una expedition 2007 en Venezuela
On a scale from 1-10 how hard would a 4bt swap be in a 2002 ranger or xj jeep?

Hello was wondering if you could tell me what all needs to be done to complete a swap like this?
I have Ford expedition 2003 , can i change the motor for a diesel, and what do you recomended?
You can change the motor in anything but know that the mounts are only made for the Factory Engine so Machining/Welding or Buying brackets is required for it to fit , Let alone Finding/Making the right Transmission/DriveShaft and Transmission Mount/BellHousing

Was the older engine gasoline? And you transmission are u change? I’m from Brazil thanks a lot buddy

Stewart Landin it’s only hobby this project and I don’t understand very well what u told me LOL my English is bad friend
Where did you get your engine and and adapter kit

Love the swap! Been thinking of doing one myself, how did you get the tachometer to work with the Cummins?
I think the 4BT ECU outputs standard CAN bus signals, it might work with the factory electronics
The red knob is probably for a two speed rear end would be my guess

20.75mpg I’d say PTO engage on the shifter for the baby dump body.
Sp8 Motorsports the little red button is for a 2 speed rear axle, very fun to drive actually, got a couple left on the farm
If a 30 gal tank he got 18.6 - if a 26 gal tank he got 22
Im gonna bet you can get 500 miles to a tank. And I say 30 MPG
Good video! I’d say 25 mpg!
my 93 f150 gits 26.3 to 29.6 on a cross country drive, so my guess is 26.6 and I hope that your braking 30 mpg. Bob
Do you guys get to pump your own diesel on that side of the state? I've been pumping my own for years in the valley
Nope I never got a chance made the whole trip on one tank
That's weird not pumping your own fuel.
18.3MPG Thats if its the 30 gallon tank or 21.1MPG if its the 26 gallon tank
Tank size?
What's the price on a swap like this I wanna swap my ram 1500?
Do a Mercedes diesel swap. I swapped my 2003 Dodge 1500 with one.
