A tragedy that Whittaker vs Costa wasn't even given a 50k bonus or considered the best fight of the event. Costa's Van Damme kicks and Whittaker's jab and two punch combo was poetry. Whittaker showed his level in round 2 and 3, which was superb.
I noticed the post-win interview was lackluster from Joe too... no one was cheering very hard and Joe seemed kinda flat with the questions. It was weird to see when Rob is such a great fighter and has so many fans...

Joe and Daniel payed no notice to knock downs or critical hits they were too busy talking about better fighters it was sad to see. I think we would all rather someone that's gonna commentate properly rather than Joe rogan talking the same shit...
It was a good fight but definitely not fight of the night. Merab vs Cejudo, Amanda Lemos vs McKenzie Dern and Volk vs Topuria were all better fights than Rob vs Costa. Neither deserved performance of the night too, they did good but not better than Topuria and Hernandez.
@@jonsoler3648 What? Dern vs Lemos had too much of Ronda Rousey sloppy and clumsy striking battle mixed with some ground work. Merab vs Cejudo was mostly a one sided wrestling affair for Merab similar to Whittaker's striking battle against Costa where Whittaker slowly took over quickly with some moments for Costa with the damage overall.
Rob took out the whole division last time for his comeback, and he is doing it again now. That in itself is legendary.

Nope, he's definitely not happy how the fight gone, as man, we all have pride and common sense, if that was a street fight, Robert knows he got the worse of it, and that's what is bothering him, all this excuses about flu and bla bla bla, is just trying to hard to not feel down mentally, he's still trying to make himself believe he still the best version. Costa came of an 18 months inactivity and still almost knocked him out, and at the end of the fight, locking at Roberts face, he knows he got an ass woop, he was clever to get the points as he was more active, but every time Costa landed it hurt him badly, his face was a mess at the end of the fight

Whittaker looked solid against Costa. I really looking forward to seeing his next fight, must be either Cannonier again or Strickland. Strickland will be a very challenging fight but with this new fire, I would love to see it. He's still one of the top 5 best middleweights of all time, and he's still going strong.
It has to be Strickland. A rematch against Cannonier is not needed imo.

@@zinidinerahman4168Strickland was always a tough fight for Whittaker because he is a very defensive fighter, who uses his jab to great effect. Whittaker relies on blitzes and usually he has the best jab in fights. Strickland may be able to take that away from him in which case I would maybe favor Strickland in the fight. It's very interesting and a great fight for Whittaker's legacy.

I don’t know what was better about this fight. Costa rocking Bobby with the spinning kick right to the side of his noggin, or Bobby stumbling back and planting his feet and throwing heat right back. One of the sickest fights I’ve seen. Bobby Knuckles and Dustin Poirier probably have the most impressive resumes of knockdown, drag out wars.

Getting sick the day of a fight would be my worst nightmare
na brother. Imagine waking up in a bit of a sweat knowing you’re getting sick..you go to the bathroom to cough up some phlegm. Then you brush your teeth and go back to bed…you tuck your self in and get comfortable ready to sleep…seconds later you feel a rough hand slide down your thigh towards your groin, grabbing your little snake. You turn and look and it’s your estranged uncle Ean who is on the child pornography registry. You then provide to be scared and get molested, christmas comes around and you’re forced to sit next to said uncle but you’re to scared to say anything…
The fight with Paulo Costa was great, that was easily the best version of Costa we've seen since the Romero fight, and arguably the best Costa ever, and this "past prime" version of Robert Whittaker beat him. That being said, Strickland and Du Plessis rematch are tough fights, I'd honestly favor those two against Rob, I'd give Rob a better chance at winning a trilogy with Israel
