  • Nordic inspired DIY macrame snowflake wall hanging!
This is great for beginner macrame artists because it only uses 2 types of knots and uses only 2 different coloured cords
    You will need:
    1 - 6 inch (15cm) wooden dowel
    13 - 40 inch (101cm) 3.35mm single strand cotton cord
    - masking tape
    - hot glue
    - measuring tape
    - scissors
    working cords:
    - red, 3.35mm single strand cotton cord
    - white 3.35mm single strand cotton cord
💙 Did you try this pattern? I’d love to see! Tag me on instagram and I’ll give you a shout out on my story highlights
    * each square on grid pattern represents a vertical double half hitch knot in the corresponding colour
    * I don’t give out specific measurements for the working cords because it can vary depending on tension and materials used. However, I like to work with 60 inches (152cm) at one time

Thanks M'am for sharing your Knowledge. The design is very pretty. I have a doubt.
When we load the cords, suppose 5mm cords on to the dovell. Is it necessary that we should start the design also in 5mm? Or is it ok if I start with 3mm working cord?Kindly reply M'am.Thanks.

💙 Yes for this pattern it’s best to use the same mm of rope. The trick with pixel macrame is that your working cords have to be half the diameter of the filler cords, otherwise your image will distort. Your knots have to be as close to perfectly square as possible…just like the grid pattern. So for this pattern the reason why you need to use the same size rope is because you are tying your knots around both the strands in the larks head knot, which in return equals half the size giving you a near perfect square shaped knot
…I hope that makes sense, it’s kind of hard to explain

I love this Scandish Design however with the pattern, does each square on the paper represent 2 hanging vertical cords?? Ive watched a couple of your pixel tutorials & youve only wrapped 1 cord. Does then 1 cord there represent 1 square on the paper pattern?? I hope this is making sense?? 😊

💙 Yes, for this pattern you will tie your vertical double half hitch knots around two cords
When I work with yarn I tie around 1 cord because the yarn is smaller in diameter than the rope, but when I use all cotton rope I tie my knots around two cords. You want your VDHH knots as close to a perfect square as possible just like the grid pattern, otherwise your image will distort
      Hope that helps 🤗
