you forgot about the biggest difference, in master duel you don't get bombarded with pop ups (that you can't turn off) every time something new comes along
true true. also having to click through 10 screens of rewards and dialogue after every game is really annoying too, especially when it's a little laggy. a couple seconds of loading x10 every duel really adds up!

This. Events with multiple enemies like the one going on now get so annoying.
@SaltyLegnd I love the events too. But I feel event locked sometimes. Especially on mobile because it reboots the app pretty often. You start it up and you have to go through all the event screens and then after every duel you have to go through the event screens and for whatever reason each screen has to load in independently. At first I look forward to the event notifications but they wear me down.
Coming back to DL after a few months of MD made realise how annoying that is.
I like summon animations better in Master Duel. Short, but the monster poses just like in artwork. Moreover, 200+ monsters have animations, while Duel Links has maybe around 50.

1 note on galaxy eyes photon dragon. that mini box is actually one of the best when you take into account the 5 good xyz monsters it has 3 of them seeing competitive play even today

@@findout2655 there are plenty of sets like that like DL too, galaxy eyes was released in a set that supported the photon archetype with starliege lord galaxion etc, and then like 1.5 yrs later they released all the galaxy support in one box

The most expensive deck in master duel is actually dinomorphia. You need 3 judgment, 3 strike, 3 z arcs trap(forgot the name), 3 domain, 3 main deck monster (also forgot the name). All of them are urs by the way and there's also kentrigiga and the dinosaur that are for the extra deck. Also ur by the way
@@kauanjos3199 You really don't need the Z-Arc trap + it's package to play the deck, Strike can also be cut though it's highly recommended for the deck. But yeah, you need 3x Therizia, 3x Domain, 2-3x Ketregina, 2-3x Rex for the in-archetype cards alone.

How is galaxy eyes mini box bad? It has like three staple rank 4s.
You left out how gem economy is terrible for DL, and it also takes forever to grind out stuff (whether it's character leveling, farming events, pulling on main boxes as a f2p, etc.) MD gives out its gems mostly with dailies and the events don't take forever to grind.
In MD, you just pull your cards, build/craft, and you're ready to duel. In DL, building a brand new deck as a f2p can literally take months.
kinda disagree there, i think grinding's fine for the most part especially since most of it can be passive (make a deece deck for auto duel and just let it run) and rewards are generally pretty generous tbh
I've heard that master duel becames really expensive after consistently playing for a month or so. I haven't played it so idk
I have MekkKnights , Gouki, Salad, Burning Abyss, Galaxy , DDD, Phantom Knights, Mermail. & my main acc has the rest. First thig to do on a new acc is to make a good Autoduel grind deck. Get upto stage 29 in DM world = 9 npc every 4 hours & you're set.
Yeah when you begin MD the amount of gems is 10x better but then after enough play the gems come in at a glacial pace. This is especially the case when you want 1000 gems to get the best chances of getting some URS. And you need to pull 3 URs to craft the one you want.

Thought of a good video idea (maybe): compare an archetype from how it’s played in duel links and how it’s played in master duel, like with general play style (like galaxy eyes), with cards that the archetype is missing in duel links, and if the deck gets a lot better with a specific skill.

A big plus in terms of decks building is that you get to play a few decks at their full potential with all of your favorite cards. Looking at you duel links evil eyes.

Duel Links is really fun if you like the animes and lots of pve events. But Master Duels is very f2p friendly and you can make a complete meta deck without having to grind months for.
This is less ans less true as time advances, they don't reprint new cards in secret packs anymore, which makes the newest deck a pain in the ass to get for new players
@@soupe2000 I know what you mean. When the game came out I was able to make Drytron Herald and Eldlich and Cyberdark on the side. Now I wasn't even able to make tearlaments despite having a boat load of gems. Put down the game for a while.
I love duel links, but it’s p2W, MD is f2p. should be number 1. I’m a whale on DL but MD is better for your pockets + GRASS is at 2 now😂

I think for me it’s just that duel links takes way to get into, I’ve downloaded it so many times, realised its like ‘all of your enemies use 1200 attack beat sticks, here’s a playable deck, you can’t lose, do that 1000000 times and then you can get to parts where it’s fun

Nah even lv 60 Varis is ez to beat. Also the decks you're given suck hard (and sometimes don't make sense, for example pkaymaker should have cyberse in his starting deck)

I like the field customization in MD more than in DL plus I like a more proper Yugioh tcg experience as opposed to the speed duel. Also like how it divorces from the anime but I’m glad duel links fills that role
From my experience, md is the most f2p game I've experienced, you dont have to build every deck in the game, just build what you enjoy, let alone the fact that in day1 you can make 2 expensive decks easily
And the ability to dismentle is really good

You can find Card lore and stuff in Yu-Gi-Oh story book and official release, but those things just available in Japan sadly, they even had long running story like duel terminal which really have better story than Yu-Gi-Oh anime imo

Whoever enjoy DL more than MD is just a snowflake that can't deal with the idea of adapt and overcome with the modern meta which is a tradition in any TCG. They just wanna be babysit by Konami with a died down version of cards and the lack of counter play. The thing that pisses me off the most about DL is the fact that's the deckbuilding itself already limit us as a player from being creative if you wanna reach KOG get ready to have all the staples in your deck. MD on the other hand allowed me to be as creative as possible thus helping me push my Raid Raptors into Diamond 3. Also the only play available in Dl is setup a board then pop pop pop boom OTK.... How the hell is that way better than a turn 1 negate where you can still counter their board with Nibiru, Kaiju or even Sphere mode. Creative deck building allows you to counter unbeatable board and it's fun.

I know this is 3 months old, but guess what? Im putting in my 2 cents, yea crafting is LOVELY, but guess what? You can make 100+ f2p decks in Duel Links faster then you can in Master Duel, and it all comes down to oje key factor, Duel Links drains cards from a box, Master Duel its like drawing for the box with it resetting every time
Not to mention you can face AI ...
So my thing on DL vs MD, I consider Duel Links an overall okay game who's long term is being handled decently, not great but not bad either, while Master Duel in comparison is an overall GREAT game who's long term is being handled like shit.
I say this because the core of Master Duel, especially on the initial release, was wonderful and very generous. Good starting gem count, early solo mode gives you some good staples like ROTA, Monster Reborn, and Raigeki as well as deck cores for stuff like World Chalice and Shiranui (which is SO good if you plan to build Zombie World with the structure deck), music was great, aesthetics for the game board are wonderful with the mats, sleeves, and buddy.
Then we get to the long term of Master Duel where Solo Mode is not generously giving you cards as much in the later modes, gem production drops pretty hard, and ladder has an issue with bots and weren't handled well early on either. I understand that obtaining a deck is still pretty easy because you can decraft your current cards, but for people who like to have a collection of decks like me, unless they know for sure they do not want to play that deck, it's a slog because crafting is less valuable because we are more likely to keep the cards long term.
Master Duel's events also have been handled HORRIBLY as a whole (some were fine but they're few in number). A lot of the events just generally had the issue of Konami mishandling the ban list for a festival and degenerate decks just run rampant.
Bot problem are pretty much gone tho

@@mekklord I agree for some of them, but Master Duel I think has the better range/variety of themes, and for some of theme, like I said, Monarch theme, is better than Duel Links ost. Though taste in music really differs from people to people, but the wider range in ost in Master duel is definitely better in general in my opinion.

Just by logging every day on DL, fighting weak bots, and losing 3 duels on PVP during events and the player receives thousands of gems, while if the player plays MD he will need to win on PVP playing against a lot of broken decks to receive good rewards.

We can argue all day over which game is better but the truth is that Duel Links really needs some changed.Compared to Master Duel the monetization system is very bad.We need some sort of crafting system because we all have a huge amount of trash UR cards that we will never use.Sadly,I don't think Konami will ever implement this because whales continue spending money on the game and because of that Konami will never want to change the game

Main difference for me... Grinding.
I do like the PVE stuff in Duel Links and testing out my decks... But the grind.
Want a good card? Grind through boxes to get it.
Want a card from event? Grind the event and spend a long time trying to get the mega max point score so you can get a better roll at maybe getting the event card.
Yes Master Duel has some annoying events that may feel like it cripples your deck while letting other theme decks run free despite the event setting... But you can grind easier.
Also you can dismantle cards... Not that great, but it means you have stuff that does stuff.
How many random Duel Link currencies are their that actually do something rather than acting as gamble pull waste items?

Every duel in MD feels the same. Either i have to spend 5 minutes comboing or watch my opponent do the same only for one of us to lose to a single handtrap negate. Or you play numerons.

So all and all master duel is more of the “traditional” game where duel links is more of a quick and fun experience

The only reason I can't call master duel good is because every time I try to play it the game just automatically disconnects me as soon a duels about to start meaning I can hardly play the game at all

As someone who plays both I can agree on the crafting thing, but with the archetypes I think the way duel links handles it is really good they slowly add in archetypes instead of putting them all in at once whichll end up seeming broken to alot of people. As for the story mode that's the difference between the two games and the purpose they serve master duel's story mode is on the card lore while for duel links it's story is for the anime enjoyers of the original 6 series which because of gallop leaving didn't really get more closure with characters

At times I want to play Master Duel but then realise one headache is enough. Yugioh in general IS a big headache & since I have so much covered in Duel Links, there's just no time for Master Duel. I played it the first 4 months & was done. I cant grind on both games so chose the one that was portable & quick. On PC there is just no way I'm playing a card game instead of AAA titles.

This is a hit or miss deal, I think. The fact that we havent gotten certain things has helped other stuff that normally wouldn't be prominent get a time to shine, but there's definitely a lot of things that could have come and been reasonably good that havent yet

- Single player lore
Yeah, the card lore stuff's cool but I wouldn't say its strictly better when DL's had its own little bits of its own world building and character interactions unique to it. The fact that we're getting some sort of continuation of the Arc V and VRAINS series to an extent in the game is just as good as MD making card lore more prominent in my opinion
