Trust me some of them can even go for 10-12 times more in New York or California. Number 8, 4 and 2 are spectacular, I really like them.
Wow, the first home is actually in my neighborhood. I bought my home on the same lake at a GREAT deal! It sits on nearly 2 acres, comes with a private boat dock in my back yard (that houses my 25 foot boat) along with 100 ft of my own private lakefront for awesome fishing. ALL for less than $300K!

#9, 6, 5, and 2 were my favorites. I live in NY (Bronx County) and none of these style homes even exist unless you go up to Westchester County and further upstate or out to Long Island in the Hamptons. I've always loved Atlanta ever since my first visit there in 1999. I seriously don't need a mansion lol any standard home in GA I would love since this is way out of my budget but just to look at them they're simply beautiful.

That one on 27+ acres is nice. And it's over an hour, kinda northwest from Atlanta, and more out away from city life, and not very far from the Alabama State line, maybe 15-20 minutes from Alabama, It's beautiful in that area.
That was superb. I'm from metropolitan Washington DC , and here in the Washington area one million dollars to 2 million dollars is an average house in a strong or up-and-coming area

These are not my words but relayed from an article on RE taxes.
The IRS wanted to know what was a mansion for tax reasons.
So they consulted with the most knowledgeable people on mansions. And that was "Sotheby's."
And Sotheby's (reportedly) told the IRS that a mansion is 12,000 sq. ft. and up.
And that houses between 8,000 sq. ft. and up to 11,999 are considered luxury houses.
Therefore houses under 7,999 sq. ft. are simply large (luxurious) homes and not mansions as most often applied.

My just under 1800 sf house on a 1/8 acre lot in coastal (not on the beach by any means!) Southern California is a good $3-400k more than these houses - that’s how crazy the RE prices are here (I paid $175k for the house 20 years ago). It is a beautiful historic house which I love and I’m not much into the McMansions featured but you do sure get a hell of a lot more for your money out there.

#2 is the only one with an actual Atlanta address. The rest are located anywhere from 20-45 miles from downtown “Atlanta”

No wonder the real housewives of Atlanta can live large in thier big mansions. Compared to California prices
As long as you don't live in Fulton county where they steal all your tax money. I have been in several of these mansion type homes and I would literally beat the owner and the developer for making such hideous homes. They are just large to be large. Sometimes there is no forethought for drainage, Ski slope driveways and gaudy kitchens that are so large you can fit and entire church congregation in them. Don't even get me started on the bathrooms that rival Roman baths that it takes 10 secs to get to the other side.
I get they are mansions and they are there to show off wealth but a little forethought and smart design could make them a little more utilitarian instead of Buckingham palace.
As they say in Atlanta, these houses were made to be sold and not lived in.

#1 very lovely. I love the rural setting. Know Dawsonville is its own town so one can avoid the 85 gridlock.

Let’s be clear all but the last house was in Atlanta. And that last one was OTP. In Atlanta $1M will get you 3,300 sqft 4br 4ba and nothing updated. Cheap Custom build are $250-$400 a sqft - that real atlanta or you living in upcoming area where city code is tight and wont let you build large homes
For $1 mil I want a Viking Range, and a fireplace in the master bedroom
