I remember this group...They were absaloutly good,I seen them the very first time I went to Epcot back in 1991. It's to bad they dont have liv music like this anymore. Yes they have a live band once and a while but it's not the same!!! Bring back the Future Corps!!!!
zwazi09 has apparently not heard the Scouts '83 version which was by FAR the best ever put into this genre. Those soloists were INSANE. I have a copy of the original manuscript as written by the soloists that year. E above double C in the opening solo.
@92vanguard the solos here are much better than those in the scouts regardless of the high E or not. And personally, I prefer the leaner sound of a smaller group on this chart. Not that it didn't work for the scouts, but smaller settings like this one have a different kind of musical energy.
You can't expect people from another continent, let alone North America...stop and go "Holy S#!t!!! This is BOMB!" ----they come to indulge in crass consumerism...not Art...they still suck though....I swear 95% of Tommorowland visitors thought the Trashcan Trio (Tom Float...Chuck Lopez...et al...) were ACTUAL JANITORS who were "allowed to" put on stunning 3man percussion shows at regular intervals "just cuz...." sad that FC, MagicKC, TT, Blast! and other bad-ass ensembles at Disney are no longer funded. FC prob. never made much real $ for Disney....but hiring the best musical and visual talent "just cuz you can afford it" certainly gave the parks an edge over MM and Knotts ....but OH WELL! Check out the Green Army Men at DCA in Cali if you can...Tom Float is in charge and Chuck is his ass't. It's like Blue-Man...but Green (and more talented). The last bad-ass Drum Corps-culture-based Disney-Funded ens. I know of.

So tight!!! These guys were a world class performance group at EPCOT. Disney screwed up hard getting rid of them.
thanks for this, SO MUCH!
superb!....thank you
A G-bugle horn line just has a panache and flair (not to mention POWER) which cannot be matched by all-key instrumentation ...
The bugles they're playing on are 3 valved, so technically they are also "all key" instruments. I understand what you mean though
I will confirm this is an almost direct mirror of the Madison '82 arrangement.
Madison should do this exact arrangement again! Been to long, great piece!

Shawn Owens aka SHAWK was the man playing that part. He’s still active albeit retired as a public band teacher. Great guy and player!

by the way, what exactly happened to the production of the second album?
@kowilkins This is the Scouts 82 version, pretty much note for note.
Mostly Suncoast alumni I believe?
A couple of Scouts...PR
@TheEuphonator we played it in 08, but yes, I'm pretty sure it was played some time not too long before.
Who’s “We”?
No amplification needed.
Well duh they're standing 5 feet from the audience
played this in my college band the season before last. Pretty funny how different it is when played by 400 people rather than 14 lol
Yeah, this IS pretty much Madison 1982, but faster.
and better.
Dave Coolidge, trumpet soloist here, was a Madison soloist.
This is the Scouts chart...little faster
Well Madison did also play it in 1993. This is that version.
what a bunch of low class P.O.S.'s just walking by and not even giving these the time of day ! ! HONESTLY, how heart breaking !

Hey, you gonna write a new movement in honor of planet #9 anytime soon?
Oh for cryin out loud. Hahahahah. I had Holst on the brain again. Sorry bout dat.
@jimbear7 Did you go to FSU in '02? I have a CD of them doing it in'02.

1983: ua-cam.com/video/uHqte30g4KI/v-deo.html
Personally, I prefer 1983.....
Fantastic performance... like ths scouts, but with better soloists.
Again, Dave Coolidge, trumpet soloist here, was a Madison soloist.
@@daveyboygee, Dave and I were at Indiana University together back in the day, and he's still playing great today!
