When I played Mario Party growing up, I always did the most amount of turns because 10 is simply too short of a game. Also the star count is usually pretty low. I like the idea of someone being able to run away with the game or a comeback being possible
A challenge I would like to see: Can you reliably make someone win? Rules: You pick an AI character before the game starts. You can do anything you like, but your chosen AI has to win. See how often you can make that happen in a row (or make it a x out of y). This would be interesting because it is kind of a measurement how much you can interact with other characters.
Jj the strawb unfortunately, no. My only access to a switch was at my youth center, meaning I had to take turns. Of 15 minutes each. It didn’t help that I couldn’t take 2 turns in a row, was limited to 2 per day, and most of the time was paired with 3 other people, leaving no room for AIs. Also, sometimes the switch was closed! I had underestimated the time it would take. It was too time-consuming. I got 2 full games in (in both the AI lost) before suddenly you-know-what came around and forced us all into quarantine. Sorry.

This really is a testament of how truly luck dependent mario party games have become. Literally winning by not making any choices, and letting the game play itself.
Games that are largely luck based make the best party games. This way the owner of the game doesn't have such a large edge that no-one else can win. Games that are luck based but allow experience to grant an edge are the most popular for casual games. Ex: beer pong is an old game that was largely luck, but does incorporate skill making it popular party game among college students.

On New Year I played one round of Mario Party 8 as Luigi. I had some mediocre luck and ended with one star in a game where people had 3/1/1/0 stars. I did, however, win the most minigames, landed on the most red squares and used the most items, getting all three bonus stars. Now, I wasn't doing nothing, but I think this shows that Luigi has a certain affinity for getting victories handed to him.

Im pretty sure you could only choose if you know exactly when to press the button. As evidence of my claim, note that I said "almost every time". What i observed was that he didn't get mario as the first ally every single time, just most of the time.

If all sources are the roulette then perhaps Mario is the first one it starts on before it starts shifting between the characters and mashing fast enough could get him, it's not uncommon for roulettes to start at a predefined point in games
One time I was playing the kamik map with a friend, and I believe I was Rosalina. The important thing to note is that whichever character I was, the character dice could either make you move kinda far, or give you coins. I joked about how funny it would be if I never moved after the first turn. I stayed on the blue space I landed on for all but about the last 5 turns out of a 30ish turn game. I was laughing the entire game.
Apologies if this is overly critical, but... That montage bit was entirely far too long winded, to the point where even at 2x speed I felt impatient. It starts at 19:31 and ends at 24:33, which means three minutes of no commentary. I really enjoy watching these challenges and your commentary is very likeable, but you sometimes drag things out to slightly annoying degrees. This is especially egregious with your intros [see 0:48 to 1:18. That's a 20 second pause with no commentary, which is longer than a lot of modern TV shows.] and the animations for introducing Copy Abilities in Kirby _(though the latter has improved somewhat.)_ I hope this is useful information for future projects.

This is especially egregious with your intros [see 0:48 to 1:18. That's a 20 second pause with no commentary, which is longer than a lot of modern TV shows.] and the animations for introducing Copy Abilities in Kirby _(though the latter has improved somewhat.)_
