I made my own version. I called it called it the Cornerian Afterburner. I had them going back and forth playing off each other like a duel or a dogfight if you will. Sadly I never published cause i never could get it the way I heard it in my head and never could perfect the transitions.
My biggest handicap was lack of tools/assets & ability to work with the tools I needed. I was basically just splicing the two tracks togeather (A Genesis Remix of Corneria & The Arcade Version of AfterBurner) in Vegas. Tried to get them so that they went back and forth like a dogfight. Unfortunatly it never made it out of the roughcut stage as I was unable to get it to a point where I was satisfied with it. I was unable to cut the tracks a the right point for the latter parts. As a result the the transitions were EXTREMELY rough and jarring. At some point I had planned to go back and replace the arcade Afterburner track with genesis version. However by that time I actually got around to doing it I had given up on the track entirely as I couldn't reconcile the two tracks in the latter half of the track. I still have the roughcut if you are interested in hearing it.
THE DREAM HAS BECOME REALITY!
