Robber of riches could also be a fine card draw engine, but it is dependend on your opponent having cards in their hand so maybe not. And isn't lilianas carress a better megrim? Tectonic reformation could also be a concideration. Dragon mage could be a good budget card too.

Malfegor is a great way to deal with hexproof and indestructible creatures. I was playing against against a sliver player who was drawing the game out because he thought his slivers were untouchable. I dropped Malfegor and wiped his board then swung in for lethal. He is no longer in our play group.
This was a fun flip on the formula! The only thing I would add is a quick mention about how much the budget cuts take off the cost of the deck. Otherwise, I am looking forward to more of these!
I’ve been tweaking a Rakdos, the Showstopper deck for the longest time. Malfegor is in there and you may have convinced me to switch them and go the discard/hellbent route 🤓
This reminds me so much of my Crosis the Purger EDH Deck! However, with crosis, we don’t care for running many hellbent cards, it runs a lot of similar cards to what’s in this deck. I would love to see either a full $50 version of malfegor or crosis! I like the new series too!

I don’t know if you have this card in this deck but ensnaring bridge makes it so creatures with power greater than the amount of cards in your hand can’t attack
Small nitpick Mitch, but I would love to hear your reasoning behind your budget cuts. With the upgrades you usually explain why what is being subbed out for what. Sure you're downgrading, but it could be similar to your Quest 4 Quarters where, "It's not quite as good but still does this". Great video though!

The series is about reviewing and play testing budget decks buy creators and other outlets. I started after your Creators Quarters so i was hoping to reach you this way.
Hey I love your videos and decks a lot but I do have a suggestion. I feel when testing ur commander deck idk how to handle the deck as you make the deck seem rlly good and i think it’s just my piloting skills. My suggestion is maybe a poll every month were people pick you past commander deck techs and you play games with some friends just to show how you would play the game out and how you’d make the deck work. Otherwise I love all your videos and can’t wait to see more
Okay, granted, I don't pay attention to what's legal in specific formats, but when I made a Hellbent deck ages ago, it was built around a simple combo: Megrim + Pain Magnification + Anthem of Rakdos. Get those three enchantments out. Get to Hellbent. Then force an opponent to discard a card or take three damage. This causes a recurring loop that forces them to discard their whole hand and take 4 damage for each card discarded. With cards like Blightning, that isn't hard, and even fits well with color identity. So why then, out of the four cards I just mentioned, is Megrim the only one in this deck? Am I missing something here?
I know you want to avoid overly long vids, but some of this one, particularly the Budget Cuts section, blew by really fast. What's the cost after the cuts?
Very surpised that megrim was included over Liliana's Caress. it costs 1 less mana to cast and is loss of life instead of damage, meaning there's less (slim though it may be) of a chance for it to be prevented.
I did Malfegor party. It was a chaos deck where nothing stayed on the board and everything kept turning into a creature and subsequently getting sacrificed.
I'd like to see a forced combat deck, something about the idea of forcing someone else to hold the gun to someone else's head always gives me a chuckle😂
Some of these cards look like things I want for Nekusar. If I use Sower of Discord, then cast Windfall, does that mean the two players I choose will get pinged twice from Nekusar?
Hmm Im a little disappointed with star compass with a deck that either plays lots of spells or discards to the yard corrupted grafstone is a fantastic budget mana rock. Rakdos Return is super cheap and a great card and superb themed to this deck. So if Grimoire of the Dead which is an absolute bomb game ending card with the only downside of having to discard some of your own cards to set it off. Oh hey now that everyone has discards their whole deck let's bring it all back to life on my side.

I honostly feel like this is one of the hardest commanders to build around since he sets you back so far. Always wanted to see a deck tech about him.
He seems super slow too, I'd make some space for a crypt ghast, 3 more 2c rocks, and some dark rit like effects in red like seething song

Pretty similar to my Rakdos, Lord of Riots deck, i used to have problems with bant, not anymore
this deck could really use Bloodchief ascension, although it;s kind of pricey it really is worth it
