Lots of coffee in the morning and I’m naturally just a go go go person. One of my faults is that I don’t know how to relax.

I don’t think your deck is too big for the size of your yard at all if anything you’ll want that deck space especially as kids and different things like potted plants, deck boxes, etc. etc. and have stuff that you want to put on. I don’t know I wouldn’t downsize that deck. I just enlarged mine because deck furniture takes up a lot of room.
The trellis that you built is gorgeous I would love one. I’ve also seen people use the same thing for tomatoes, just an FYI they keep the main stem and get rid of many of the other branches, keeping only a very minimal few suckers that produce and getting rid of many more of the other branches. They are thin to get lots of air, flow and sun, and they grow upwards in your trellis like yours You can find videos on UA-cam.
Thirdly I would be very careful when getting pallets. I love all the different things people do with them and the fact that they’re often free is incredible. There’s not much free in life anymore. But some of them are made with toxic chemicals and some are not, if you’re using them for growing things that are going into you or your pets you will not want the ones that have the harmful chemicals in them.
There’s a certain stamp or label that you can look for off the top of my head I cannot remember what it looks like, but you can look it up.
And you have to make sure you have enough soil depth in your pallets. They aren’t very deep probably not deep enough to be doing roots for very many things. Certainly not corn and probably not watermelon. Just something to keep in mind.
Also, do not use any wood that is pressure-treated for gardening where you are growing edibles. It is treated with a protectant, so it lasts through the weather, but it is also toxic. The chemicals can also be absorbed into your skin, which is a reason why we built a cedar deck rather than a pressure-treated wood deck as children would be crawling around with their hands on these chemical boards.
Also make sure that people know you need to have lots sunlight for most of the day, not just half of the day I learned the hard way my crops did not flourish.
I have been doing large pot planting for my vegetables last two summers on my large deck and have not had very good luck so this summer after watching some UA-cam videos I’m going to add well processed chicken manure and some coconut fibres or Peat moss in with my soil and use potting soilnot gardening soil as gardening soil is too heavy and does not allow for any air or water to get through easily.
It looks like you have a lovely yard enjoy spring is almost here !!
