We recorded a piano & vocal arrangement of our favourite @TrophyEyesOfficial song for What We Did On The Weekend's upcoming vinyl covers compilation, raising money for Beyond Blue (out this November).
But in honour of sharing the stage with Trophy Eyes at UNIFY Gathering this weekend (where they'll be playing 2016's 'Chemical Miracle' LP in full!) we've decided to drop it early 💙
'Chlorine' is a beautiful and devastating song, seeing vocalist John Floreani muse on the paradox of human life after finding out a little boy who'd once saved him from drowning had, years later, taken his own life.
With our version we hoped to bring those heartbreaking, powerful lyrics to the fore 💙

Unrelated note: I wish you guys could've seen the tears of joy today. A young teen girl recently had her home burned down along with everything inside. I told her "this little guy here, well he's 'not okay' as you can see from his badge, so he needs you to be brave and well to keep his spirits up, I hope you can do that for him?" as I gave her the sentimental surgery teddy, the first replacement of any of her plush collection. Even though it was limited edition merch, it was worth it!

The message of this song talks about the Vocalist who nearly drowned as a child but was saved by someone at the party. Later in life the same person who saved him committed suicide thus making the Vocalist question why someone would do such a thing. Thisnsong talks about not just the story but how he feels and thinks about it all

Wow... I caught this song live at Warped (2017ish) during my Tonight Alive, Hands Like Houses, Trophy Eyes phase - which is such a nice place to hang out and THIS is like... Damn... Last time I got chills from a cover was a bad recording of Chester Bennington at Chris Cornell's funeral. You do understand how unfair it is for any three people to have this much concentrated talent right?
