Do young families live here?
A few families. The challenge is that the local public schools are poorly rated. College acceptance rates are some of the lowest in the country. There is an excellent private school not too far, but enrollment is limited and tuition is steep. But a great school that enables you to live in paradise. The daily drive is about 40 minutes each way to the school, as traffic is dense. Your child will be a bit lonely as well, as most homeowners are empty-nesters. I bought there when my son was 1 year old, we wanted to live there year-round, but it was just too hard to do it.
Live in Murrells Inlet but go to Chucktown about 2 times a month. We love it down there. May have to check out the island, looks amazing...
Yes - it's a stunning place!! You will need a pass to get through the gate!
