But, back in 1990 when the show was made, it was a freelance company (as evidenced by the Inspector Gadget, Mario, and Zelda cartoons produced earlier & the Sonic cartoons to come), so there were less copyright restrictions. However, when Disney aquired the company, it also gained all shows the company produced.
