  • Doru booked an intensive driving course (20 hours taken at 4 per day) with myself starting on the 29/1/18 with his test to go ahead on 2/2/18. Here we meet up and go over the basics that may or may not have been covered with his previous driving instructor. Doru has previously completed 30 hours and failed a driving test in London.

    I passed last year (not driven since due to insurance) - I was never taught to use the gas with clutch and I think this video has finally made it easier for me to understand how to do it, thank you. When I used to mention it to my instructor he would dismiss it and say I can just use the clutch

    • @Go2DrivingSchool
      @Go2DrivingSchool  6 років тому +4

      Glad it's helped. I can see this particular video helping many others too. Many instructors will just dismiss stuff like you say. I think a large proportion are just lazy and unmotivated and yes, in that instance it's far easier to just sit back and say nothing at all. Makes me sick!

      I think it depends on the car that you are driving. If it’s a newer car, it may solely rely on just using the clutch and if it’s a slightly older car then it may require both the clutch and gas. It just really depends on the vehicle.

    Wow.. compared to my instructor you're more laid back and understanding, although I thank my instructor for passing me, he was very hard on me which made me question whether I wanted to continue with him or not.. that being every mistake I made he would always comment negatively and at one point he raised his voice at a mistake I made on a roundabout. Your students are super lucky and have chosen a good instructor to do lessons with. I also have passed 3 months ago and still manage to get myself watching your videos lmao.

      Haha!, I'm a learner that has gone through 2 driving instructors in a 1 month period and the instructor raised his voice when I did something on a roundabout too! pathetic really and there are so many bad instructors out there.

      Thank you! really appreciate you taking the time to write this great comment. Some instructors just don't have people skills, it could be the very reason they came into this career in the first place as they may have found it difficult working in a team environment (employment etc). Shouting at students just baffles me!

    Excellent Instructor. Though I live in Eastern EU, the basics of clutch controls are the same. My instructor does not give such detailed instruction as you do, that's why i am suffering during driving ( I did 14 lessons of 30 so far) . The Basics of clutch controls and steerings are the most important things what you must learn properly..

    Just a question, why is it better to use the resting bite point at the junction along with revs to remain still rather then just using the brake and fully down on the clutch? Wouldn’t this help not wear out the clutch ?

    • @addictedtors24
      @addictedtors24 5 років тому

      F1Clarky honestly I think it’s just matts preference to driving. I sit with the clutch fully down and put on some revs as I lift my clutch, it becomes very natural to do. I believe he’s just exaggerating the action so it would become natural in time maybe. I’m not fully sure why you wouldn’t have your clutch fully down while stationary whilst in gear.

    Watching this a year later, would doru or other learners benefit from learning a de-clutch in 2nd to take his corners at a more comfortable speed? I like doru prefer to go slow into corners not necessarily take it in first but by de-clutch I have full control of the car in 2nd gear? I love a good de-clutch

      I think with this particular student who was lacking some key points when driving, it was necessary to give an in- depth explanation to things. If the driver was advanced and was still giving this much info then yes that is milking it but in this instance matts explanations where relevant and beneficial.
