A nice tip I thought was always starting at 20% or more if you’re feeling nice. $85 is A BLESSING
Okay see that’s what I thought too. In the Walmart video I tipped over 24% and people were saying I didn’t tip enough. So I was thinking maybe the tipping standard went up and I just didn’t get the memo 🤣

Being a hairstylist for 10+ years. My heart goes out to hairstylist who work in those corporate places. They deserve to get paid more for their time and talents especially when they don’t have help or assistants. She did a fantastic job and the fact that she was so professional and taking the time to explain things and being transparent (even from the Walmart hairstylist too) 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 love seeing the passion, they should charge more because corporate companies are getting most of that.

She did a really nice job and tip is 20% for me. You also gave generously last time as well. You aren’t everyone and everyone ain’t you so tip as you please. Hair is gorg

Okay see I thought 20% was the normal but then people were saying I tipped so low in the last video so I was like oh okay I guess the standard went up and I just wasn’t informed about it. 🤣🤣🤣. Expensive is relative to experiences. I'm from Chicago, so the price doesn't shock me. Your hair came out GREAT!!! I believe in tipping well. My parents always said "if you ain't got money to tip, stay in the house!" Bravo sis 🌷

The color was beautiful! For that price, I would have liked to see more consistency with the barrel curls on both sides. But I love how she did the color, so bravo!

I agree, the color was nice but for the price the styling should have been a little better, she may have been rushing
naw! that was cool if you want it to be better go home and roll it!!! next day it will be perfect, after all that work on bleach and color you are so tired that you don't have time for those perfect curls. Maybe if she was white I would say yes but black hair takes so much time and those curls are just going to fall out anyway. To get the look you are talking about you would need the marcel irons the kind we used in the 90s on the stove, nobody got time fo dat no more!

This is soooo good! She absolutely slayed this look. As someone who’s worked for a corporate salon, they just never get paid enough. The corporation takes so much of their service sales it’s not even funny. $85 tip probably made her whole week girl.

how did I have NO IDEA you could get your hair did at ulta?! that is so fun. i love the idea of being able to get my hair, makeup and nails done at the mall. a true spa day!

I hope you follow this stylist and her journey ❤ I’ve doing hair for 6 years and I started the year out by quitting my corporate job to start my own business. The fact that this stylist was explaining every step and the results are so good, shows she’s passionate and will go far.

Also the fact that there’s only one stylist is common. Common with the entire country I guess lol understaffed. But especially in our industry, these corporate companies rob us of our money we could be making. So it’s an amazing place to start out of school, to get to know what it is like. But the real way to make money is to go independent, bougie private salon boutiques. Clients like you makes long busy days at the salon WORTH IT.
I definitely plan on supporting her in the future 😉🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽💕. She has dreams and goals of moving around after a while and I hope she gets her own shop. 🥰

I was the only hairstylist at my salon for like 6 months and I wish I had a client like you 😩 I was getting treated so bad by clients and management because I wasn’t “fast enough” or I wasn’t promoting the job enough
Im so sorry this happened to you.🥹. The service industry can be so rewarding but so hard. It definitely takes a lot of hard work, dedication and skill to do hair let alone work the hours and stand on your feet all day long dealing with customers who may or may not be friendly. I just hope my husband and I continue to show those who watch our videos that there are still good people out there. We try to treat everyone equally with kindness and respect. Hoping this will spread throughout the world 🌎. Something we could all use right now is love and compassion for each other .💕🫶🏽
She did a phenomenal job on your hair, and that price was very fair and low considering that you were there for awhile. My prices are double that in my studio! (I'm a color specialist and have over 4 years of training and have been trained by top educators in the industry.) So happy that you're happy with your hair!!
She did a fabulous job, and the color suits you. Those prices are definitely these 2023 prices so I will continue to do my silk presses at home, but I love seeing the UA-cam girls get silk presses still!

The price was very reasonable for the color especially. Thanks for tipping . When going to big box salons, always ask the stylist themselves if the store gives the tip to them. Because a lot of times when people tip by card the stylist doesn’t get it. Same thing at other businesses.

I love it! I also have blue purple hair now but I went through it getting my hair colored. The first person didn’t bleach (didn’t lift my hair to the right shade and on top of that half my head was more lifted than the other side) or dye my hair the right color (I asked for blue and she gave me green after purposely telling me she used a cheaper dye since I have a lot of hair) and knew she didn’t know what she was doing. The second person tried to fix it but evidently didn’t give me the right color again. I plan on regrowing my hair and just starting from scratch next time with virgin hair and a whole new color choice and I pray I get someone like your hair stylist because she did everything right 👏🏾

Girl, your hair came AMAZING. I don’t know if you remember my telling you in your Walmart video that I was going to try Ulta Beauty to get a silk press. I’m so mad that my experience was a disaster🤦🏾♀️. Never again. For one, at Least your stylist was Black. From the moment I got to the back for my appointment it started out bad. The young lady who I scheduled with didn’t want to do my hair when she saw me. I saw her whisper something to her coworker then after waiting a few minutes that’s same coworker call me up to start on my hair. So this second stylist began washing my hair. I feel her getting my hair nice and drenched for the shampoo, I feel a little tickle on my hair then I see she’s reaching for a towel thinking she’s going to tuck it at the neck of my cape to not get me wet…no, she was done and sat me yo wrap the towel on my head. I said that’s it?! Did you wash my hair. She said yeah let’s get you to my chair so I blow dry you. I should have walked away right then but noooo, let’s give this overly nice girl the benefit of the doubt. Now, I have a lot of hair; long hair at that. It’s not thick like it once was before but it’s still a lot of hair. This poor girl struggling to blow dry hair with the dryer in one hand and a barrel brush in the other. Then she switched to using a paddle brush alternating between the two. I was like Lord please save me😩🤦🏾♀️. She’s done blow drying my hair and now she can’t decide which flat iron she should use. Right before she started I told her, my hair TAKES AND HOLD A LOT OF HEAT and I’m not tender headed. She said ok that’s good to know and laughed in relief. When she was finally done flat ironing my she was so proud of herself and was hyping me up about how good my looks and all that……🤦🏾♀️sister, when I tell you my hair looked no different from the blow dry I wanted to wring this girls neck and ask for my money back. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED and a waste of time and money. I kept a good spirit and said to myself I’ll flat iron it over again when I get home like I always have to do. I never got around to it but NEVER EVER again will I go to Ulta Beauty to get my hair done.

The key to a good silk press is the blowout. I think the reason why she needed a second pass of the flatiron is because her blowout wasn't that great. However, in the end, your hair looks nice and soft.

I love your hair texture and thickness. I would wear it just as is. Beautiful! I did see your video at Walmart in which that stylist did an excellent job. . This video at Ultra is great. I love the blond hair it brought out your eye and high check bones. Im a little old fashion so I have to warm up to the blue but, with that said you still looked fantastic. I have always felt stylist are under appreciated so I'm glad to see your generous tip. Its always a blessing when someone appreciate your work.

I got my hair so pressed at Ulta too. She cleaned it well and it looked nice but it reverted as soon as I went outside. I had to go home and slather it in oil so that humidity in the air didn't give me a full head of fuzz after enduring that blow out and straightening. I black woman did my hair so I'm not sure why she didn't know what products to use or to add heavier oils at the end. I told her she needed to silk press it with oil but they don't do that there or something....
I used to work at Ulta and yesss the hair salon girlies work hard and gets it done. At the end of the night, they get all their tips handed to them in cash from the register so tipping is def appreciated! And yes, Ulta prices are Ulta prices so def pricey lol 😅, but they use professional salon grade products so it’s expected(which are typically SUPER expensive).
