Very helpful information. I am doing the same thing with my pastures but am grazing it way to close to the ground. I plan to change my approach after watching this. Thanks!
You know I support you in all you do. I love the use of the Greg Judy principles, so this is not a protest but a genuine question. I noticed that the edge of the road, which was never grazed, was just as green as was the pasture. Is there any chance that this reflects a difference between south vs east facing slopes?
Can you share some info on the fence energizer you use and the wire setup for your cattle paddocks? We have cows on our back pasture for most of the year and I’d like to break it up into paddocks that we can rotate. Since we’re in California, we go dry and brown starting in mid May until Nov/Dec so it isn’t ideal for grazing. I have seen a big improvement in the grass quality in the years since we started grazing the pasture. Would like to make it a little easier on the grass to get a break from constant grazing though. Thank you!
Yes Chuck that cow with the Holstein in her just doesn't have the genetics to be grass finished. I am raising two steers that are Guernsey and they are looking good but I have to feed them grain. Your place is looking fantastic, and I am tickled to death to see you folks doing well.
@@SheratonParkFarms Thanks for the reply. Love the videos. We are just getting started on our 60 acres property. It was neglected for over 35 years. We recently did a controlled burn of the overgrown pastures. My plan is to have cattle on it in about 18 months.
I feel your pain, I am in the same boat as you 😭, this darn winter won't go away. I have my basement full of seedlings i started in beginning of February.
I know you love your pasture but I ranched in so il. To suppress fescue endophyte you have to keep pasture short. When pasture high fescue you get much more hoof, tail and ear sloughing . When ever I grazed high fescue the cows spent the day in the pond.
This is completely off topic! But I just watched a video of your processing room and was wondering where I can purchase some of those stainless steel table tops?
Having livestock on the land is so regenerative, very amazing difference!
Those free fertilizer machines taste pretty darn good on the grill .😊
You got that right!
Man I can't wait for our grass to start coming back! Pastures look amazing!
Congratulations on the new baby calf. The farm 🚜 is looking good 👍 👌
Nice show. You sound like Greg Judy, I like the way your land lies.
Well done . Informative 👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing. Be safe🇨🇦
Goodness…your intros! ❤️❤️❤️ short but so incredibly sweet. The dogs look so happy!

Glad you liked it!
Your farm is looking great
Another excellent video with good information. Thank you.

@killacommieformommy You likely have a good point.
I aerated my grass to get oxygen into soil and top dressed with compost and my grass is juicy green now
Love your property and what you're doing! Keep up the great work!
St Patrick's day , its paddy the calf 😊
Beautiful animals. Two quick questions: 1. How many acres of pasture do you have? 2. What is the size of your paddocks?

“Moving him along”= take him down to the train station 😂
Did you do any initial planting in your pastures to get “good” grass growing or just do it naturally with the animals?
We seeded a little clover over winter but that’s been all we’ve done.

What do you do about water for the cows during the day?
We have a portable tank that moves with them and hooks into our pressurized system.
looks at screen, looks outside, looks at screen, looks outside.... blizzard warnings and up to 10 inches of snow tonight. MOCK ME HARDER😭

I'm going start calling you Greg Judy of the North 😂

👍
Did you name the calf Patrick cuz he was born on St. Paddy's Day!?😄
What Mongo weigh.?
Age.?
I drag my pastor after I move the cows off of it, it helps to spread manure and all.
A rain

Google used restaurant equipment. There is also a Facebook group with that name.
@@Wakeywhodat OK thanks
Put cows on the grass and it grows. What that the lesson here?
