Good handling system Ted and I very much like how folks are steady and quiet around these young cattle who are basically pretty scared and are unsure what is needed from them. They look like a pretty even bunch of animals and in good order for going into the winter. What are you treating them for? I guess that the nasal dose is for respiratory disease. Does the hydraulic crush have a digital weigh platform installed to record liveweight to assess weaning weight or current liveweight? I guess that the cattle do not have chipped tags which is why the lady is calling out the animal identity. Do you use pour on medicines because you could really rattle through a number quickly if you could walk along on a platform on one side of that long lead chute and dose each one as you walk.
sorry for taking so long to reply dan... but the chute does have a scale and in this video we have no chipped ear tags.... as i reply i do have on order a tag reader and tags so when we ween this year we will have the eid tags and such.... some meds we use are used as poor on other ones we-have to inject ...
the stopper isnt very heavy so we have not had any issues... we have had a couple animals get their heads caught in the chain that it hangs from but nothing has gotten hurt from it yet
