it's slow because she's putting emotion in the way she plays. every piano player has their own style. I teared up.
Absolutely! This piece really needs the balance between dynamic and speed and to leave some room for the sax to breathe it has to be a bit slower in the beginning, otherwise the sax couldn't ramp up so beautifully!
This was excellent! I didn't expect much from the sax - but it was great! A beautiful version - I completely disagree with comments saying the tempo is too slow. Magnificent stuff - well done, Miriam and Frank.

I can't believe all the people who took the time to put stupid comments about it being to slow, or the sax not being good for the song. If you don't like it move the f' on. Don't take the time and effort to sh** all over someone's hard work. You have to be a worthless human being to do that.
The saxophone can be one of the most emotive instruments imo

i play both instruments and i think the piano is better off without the saxophone
and the saxophone needs to lower his volume down a bit coz there both competing for the tune and the blending is off
Why do people not feel the heart and soul in a saxophone. I enjoy so many types of music and do not want to discredit the piano at all as it is equally beautiful in every way, but it seems like people cannot enjoy the sax as much as me, feel what the saxophone is, a deep melancholic, yet beautiful hope

If I had a good english vocabulary I could write so much about what goes in my head and in my heart when I hear a saxophone or jazz in general. But it also depends on the person who plays this instrument and how much love or seriousness he puts in it. This genre of music can never be replaced by an fully automated computer programm which can make music because it feels wrong and you can't feel the harmony and the emotions.

A saxophone has its place. People aren't arguing about what it is or isn't. But this is a very delicate track. Piano works well because it alows for extremely gradual buildup. The saxophone feels extremely heavy handed. And destroys much of the subtlety of this track. The interstellar themes were built on the idea of a perfect build up.

Time is a beautiful theme in it's simplicity and gradual build up. The sax add to much embellishment to my taste. Piano is great. Nice introvert playing. Touches me. Please repost as piano solo.
Eh, I play the sax as well, but I just don't think it suits this piece well. The saxophone is a beautiful instrument, but of course there are moments and contexts where it's sound is very appropriate and less appropriate in others. That said, of course as musicians they are free to create make whatever kind of music they want, however they want.

Very, very moving interpretation. Deeply enjoyed the tempo...elicited more loneliness this way. The sax added sooo much to it...wow...lifted me from my seat when it began to wail softly over the piano. Bravo. Thank you for this. I only wish it was twice as long. I'd love a twelve minute version of your interpretation.
piano timing way off, too slow.
***** True, but I feel that it was still too slow in the beginning for my taste. The first few stanzas were an entire quarter note behind, it felt. It was like I was waiting for the next beat, but it did not come until the very latest. Also, at 3:00 it felt like she cut the time in half again.

Yeah there should be a beat every 4th second. I counted it on the 5th or 6th second

Steven G not slowed, time is doubled on that one and thats why its feels weird to hear. Any song youd play doubled in time (i mean 1 time more than need) would make it horrible

Don't worry about the comments. Those people -generally who can't play any instrument- are searching for speed, virtuosity, shredding performances on youtube. Moreover the slower the piece the harder to play it accurately on the tempo. And what's the title of this soundtrack? TIME! So everyone! Have a 6 minutes of your TIME, please sit down, close your eyes, clear your mind, and try to feel the tempo of your heart.

As someone who absolutely HATES fast music playing to show off one's "skill", this was much appreciated.
God! Stop saying things like: It's too slow, or the saxo doesn't fit or anyone would play it without emotion! It's their own interpretation, it's amazing in the way it is- they feel the piece, so of course it's a bit slower... and the saxo is great!

I loved that the piano part was slowed down it gives a lot of extra tension to the music which is what this piece always needed to draw the guest in
I'm glad you tried the sax, it was good experiment, the problem with it is it was out of intensity / harmoney / to high octive(???) with the piano ...i think had the sax been more lower pitched it might have offered a more open vein sound that could have complimented the piano better
It was good, both did a nice job, but some marriages just don't work out... but keep experimenting with it, there is something hidden worthwhile
Maybe it needed a low pitched violin to help support the sax....

don´t you feel it? please try and you will. This is an interpretation, THEIR interpretation of this composition. I actually liked that the tempo was a bit slower than the original, and the sax was really telling me something. I know they're a little off tempo and that they should rehearse more before performing it live but come on, just think about it....
As a sax player myself, I didn't like the sax in here. Also the pianist made a couple of mistakes...
